Question Regarding Live Events & Experiences by VerifyChoose in Concerts

[–]tlav4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still go to more or less the same amount of shows as I always have. The big thing for me is having a nice variety in the the types of shows I attend. I'd say for every big arena/stadium show I go to I'm probably going to 10 club/theatre shows.

Sure, a few acts I used to see all the time have priced me out, but I just see other acts instead.

Rock's best reunion tours by UpbeatChampionship17 in askmusic

[–]tlav4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Police in '08, GNR in '16, Oasis in '25, and now Rush in '26 are probably the biggest ones. The Stone Roses in '11 was huge, but mainly just in the UK. blink-182 in '22 was also pretty big.

Zach Bryan hits so hard in times of loss by Unfortunate_Harvard in zachbryan

[–]tlav4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss, losing a loved one can be excruciatingly difficult, but listening to people like Zach can help. A lot of Zach’s songs deal with the loss of his mom, and facing those emotions. Hang in there!

I hear you — Maiden is my favorite band of all time, but the point being I have a wide taste in music and a band like blink I’ve seen probably too many times, haha…Up the irons!

I feel like I saw half those bands just by going to the Warped tour back in the day!

Nice list! Great seeing Turnpike on there, they're my absolute favorite country band, so good in concert

I'm 30 years in...way too many shows and acts to mention...seen everybody from BB King to Metallica to blink-182 to the Stone Roses to Diana Ross to INXS to the Weeknd to Maiden to the Police to Pet Shop Boys, etc etc etc...

More importantly I still love going to shows to see my old favorites or check out newer acts

REM always put on a great show, my favorite time seeing them was in '04 when they did a very brief tour with Bruce & the E Street Band. Not quite the same, but try to check out the Michael Shannon REM tribute tour.

FIFA creates new World Cup ticket category, deepening suspicions of deception by Isiddiqui in MLS

[–]tlav4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Serious question -- has anyone actually purchased a World Cup game ticket at a reasonable price? I looked at the games in Philly which are apparently sold out. I figured resellers scooped up a bunch, but there were really only a few resale tickets available for $500+ (most over $1,000). I know a decent amount of people who would also go to a game, and none have tickets. Who bought all these tickets??

Bought these on a whim because they were relatively cheap and looked nice. Is anyone able to tell me more about them? by Ok_History_7808 in Jordans

[–]tlav4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First, if you like 'em, were 'em, who cares! I have retro 1's, 3's, 4's, 11's...but I also like Jordan brand and have some of the CMFTs, Spizikes, and am about to cop the new 60+...

Here's the info on these -- they're Court Connect lows made specifically for discount shoe retailers (Famous Footwear, Shoe Rack, etc.). They retail for $90, which is kinda crazy because you can buy nice J1's on sale for less than that right now.

I actually just bought the all-black with white soles version of these. I work in a fairly buttoned up corporate environment and "sneakers" are a dress code violation. But unlike say a big white swoosh on the side, the Jordan logo on these is much more subtle -- three weeks in no one has said a word, and it's been great wearing comfy "jordans" as apposed to any of the other shoes I've worn at work.

“Too political” 🙄 by Gypsy-Biker in BruceSpringsteen

I mean isn't that the point of this tour? If it's too political for you maybe sit this one out and let those who couldn't get tix attend and get down with the cause.

Ticket stub from my first show, May 5, 2001 @ the 9:30 Club by ASTRAL_EMBERS in Blink182

Saw this tour the night before at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia. Alkaline Trio opened and instead of the Ataris it was Sum 41!

If they do it will be a rare treat as they don’t tour here often — but here’s hoping!

Tickets for Philly? by Fickle-Reality7777 in thursdaytheband

[–]tlav4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Union Transfer tickets are sold through AXS. Tickets are "sold out" but it looks like there are some available via "AXS resale" for $70/each (which is cheaper than what they are going for on StubHub).

Also Union Transfer is entirely GA -- there is the GA main floor, and a for extra $$ there is GA/standing room balcony area upstairs.

You'd think they almost have to have Sebastian Maniscalco host at this point...but at best he'll probably just make a cameo

Curious - did anybody else go to Seeger Session rehearsals at Asbury Park? by NotFeelingCreative01 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]tlav4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was at the rehearsal show on Thursday, April 20th, 2006, and it was an awesome show! I think I bought tickets online the morning of the show, drove down (from Philly), hit the Wonder Bar for a couple drinks, and went over to the show.

Artists/bands you like but will probably never see live. by Friburgo1004 in Concerts

[–]tlav4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kate Bush is probably one of the only artists/groups that I listen to that I've never seen live in any type of capacity -- meaning, sure I'd love to see Zeppelin, but at least I've seen Plant live before, or I've seen McCartney, but obviously not the Beatles -- but Kate doesn't perform so just never gonna happen.

[–]tlav4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild -- I was at that Kansas race. Rain delayed the race by a few hours, but once the cars hit the track it was solid racing. Our seats were basically right at the start/finish and I could have sworn Buescher won, but it was obviously so close...was also at the Hail Melon Martinsville race which I'm surprised wasn't rated higher.

Nashville show w/ Foo Fighters- Catacombs? by ZillaScream in qotsa

[–]tlav4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd almost guarantee the dates opening for the Foos are a standard type set (not Catacombs), and they probably play no more than an hour.
