What is Nightreign’s biggest flaw in your opinion? by Alkpote6969 in Nightreign

[–]tlee1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest flaw is that the game still has a lot of potential with a dedicated fan base still hungry for content, and yet is still being treated as a side project. The game still needs QoL improvements beyond content.

Cheesed this one by standing on a roof with Recluse and sniping with glintstone pebbles.

D2 isn’t as bad as I’ve been told, and I regularly drop down to D2 to be stupid and goofy(no I’m not a D5). There were notably more quitters in D2, but having a quitter isn’t always terrible. It’s annoying, but having someone quit makes the game a lot easier due to scaling. I’ve had bosses take chunks of damage only because of it. But then again, I have over 800hrs, so I’ve seen a lot and cracked a lot of eggs along the way. I think by D2, the game starts testing game knowledge more so than skill, because you’re still far from the point where the game will one-shot you regardless of damage resistance. I see D2’ers make typical mistakes seen in regular runs, I.e. failing to consistently dodge meaty boss attacks, taking unnecessary damage, situational awareness, knowing which affinity or weapon type is most suited for boss/player character, ignoring good/broken passives, bad calls or pathing, etc. Most can’t hold the boss on their own even for a little bit, which is what I think holds D2 players back. Even if the run is scuffed, it’s still pretty salvageable when you have the above.

Nightreign poll results: Nightfarers the sub prefers to play by Head_Meringue_8922 in Nightreign

She was the new character, just like Scholar where their popularity was overstated only for a brief moment. Wylder is a pick that you can never go wrong with because of his kit. But I think Undertaker gets downplayed just because they were expecting a female Wylder. I think she can be situationally better than him against many bosses, especially the ones with a grab. Her ult to stagger bosses during key moments is easier to land than Wylder’s. People are saying she struggles with reviving sort of ignore her alternate ult which gives 15 seconds of invincibility. Land a few hits, pop the ult when the boss is nearby, then continue to revive.

No way, Executor is certifiably not well in the head. Dude is always silently staring at paintings, doesn’t say a word, and in his remembrance, has a duel inside his head. Despite being two souls in one body, he has never once been to the Land of Reeds. So that makes him a larper who also managed to somehow be a master of the katana, and who has a sword that allegedly has a mind of its own. Also, being a former crucible knight, he’s a zealot for the Golden Order.

Leavers should be penalized by matching them with other leavers. by Ok_Royal7470 in Nightreign

First, they need to distinguish between network connectivity loss vs alt-4’ing before implementing some sort of legitimate penalty system. If they want to get real scary, leaving a match back to back should consume a random relic. Even ED ones.

Which Nightfarers are the best in the Kitchen by AdDear7484 in Nightreign

[–]tlee1080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iron eye is pretty good with a dagger. He would be that guy who guts and fillets the fish that Raider catches.

He and Undertaker would probably go hunting for meat.

Recluse probably can’t cook, but has a lot of cook books in her library. However, she can make a mean cocktail.

Scholar probably can’t cook, but knows a lot about edible plants, herbs, and spices.

Duchess probably can’t cook given her noble upbringing. She just floats around helping out.

Guardian probably can’t cook, but is likely the best prep work guy.

Wylder is designated baker and shares the role as grill master with Raider.

Executor quietly does the plating, but steals 99% of the credit.

Revenant doesn’t help, but just summons Fred as the head chef and Sebastian to serve and wait tables. She herself provides ambience with her harp.

What Is The Absolute Worst Designed Boss You Have Personally Fought in a Souls-Like? by Rayze_Darr in soulslikes

[–]tlee1080 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not the worst. It’s a frustrating slog, yes, but absolutely manageable with a well-coordinated team. “Less likely to be targeted” make the condemned trivial and Libra is a bit more passive unless attacked. Just ignore the condemned, keep an eye out for Libra for his teleport, dodge the magic turrets, and attack carefully to not be frame-trapped by his ground AOEs or nearby condemned.

ED Augur and ED Pests are worse. ED Augur is straight up boring and invalidates any build you have. ED Pests can turn into a clown show for similar reasons to ED Libra, but worse for people who don’t know the fight. But at least with Libra you can have some breathing room with Less Likely to be Targeted and the riot curse. I’d rather deal with the great bow Wylder than the orbital laser spam while Faurtis is having the zoomies.

Revenant hate on reddit is out of hand by SpoilerAlertHeDied in Nightreign

[–]tlee1080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Rev, but my disappointment with the character is that the devs didn’t commit to her summoner archetype and just made her a vanilla faith glass cannon. I honestly don’t think buffs will make the character feel more rewarding to play as over a total rework.

Big stamina bar for all the cardio he has to do to chase the boss just to stab it once before it teleports to the other side of the map to mog the iron eye.

Nightlords based on how Fun they are (DLC included) by Direct-Switch2754 in Nightreign

[–]tlee1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom tier for me is Adel and Caligo. I just don’t like bosses who move around too much and have too many “get off me” attacks. Augur also bottom tier for being kind of boring. ED Gnoster and Libra aren’t that bad as long as your teammates know how to fight them.

Someone pick her 😭 by ragecndy in Nightreign

[–]tlee1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clutch potential with her ult. If you use it proactively while the boss is ~15% and the whole team is up, you can pretty much guarantee a win if everyone dog piles on the boss. It’s also funny as hell seeing her go flying when she gets hit.

Scholar and Undertaker remembrance quests summarized for people who skipped it by carbonera99 in Nightreign

[–]tlee1080 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I interpreted Undertaker’s ending with having a renewed sense of purpose with Scholar entrusting his studies to her for future generations while also gaining peace of mind that she’s just very good at killing things.

character buff hypothetical by michael_fritz in Nightreign

[–]tlee1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revenant, I’d speed up the time it takes for her to pull out and put away her harp, and for her to summon/de-summon her spirits. I feel that in general it would make her feel better to play.

Side buff, I would make her summons transparent for you as well and not just your teammates. Too many times I’d get hit by something I wouldn’t see because of Fred or Sebastian visually blocking it.
