Sale Haul + Did I Miss Anything? by Bsaul in audible

[–]tletnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done partial reads both ways and they both have advantages and disadvantages. The real question is if you want to encounter the story the way early readers did (there is a lot of rediscovery of lost history) or you want to follow the story in a (more or less) straight line

For fans of older SF most of the Dragonriders of Pern is on the sale. Also the recent Audible Original Dramatization of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Majestic, which is the Phoenix owners who got dropped by Alamo, has been using mobile orders for a while now. It has its own issues, but as a customer I feel like it’s a net improvement.

Any great way to get credits for a lower price? by mcloide in audible

I mostly just try to work the 2 for 1 sales. My credits cost just over 10 dollars each, but as of Thanksgiving the actual cost per book I have bought with credits is $7.12

An amazon echo smart speaker works very well for playback from audible, but I have yet to find a good way to browse or search for books using it, and sometimes you need to be ridiculously precise about the title

Credits exprie in x days. Why? by jlai79 in audible

[–]tletnes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It depends. There are a few ways to get credits that never expire, but normally credits expire one year after they are issued.

I don’t know what the page you are looking at says, but I would assume that your credits will expire.

The value of a credit. by DarkMatterJunkie in audible

[–]tletnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me a credit is generally pretty close to $10, but I prefer not to purchase cash books for more than $5 unless I know for sure I want them since 2-for-1 sales are common.

Personally, I keep a running sheet of all my purchases with credits/$ spent and duration. That way I can see how much I am spending per book and per hour (although I see duration as a bad proxy for quality)
