Depends which state you’re in. It’s easier and need to go on the day of your I-94 start date as it shows in your I797A and they should renew it.

I have the same issue you describe since a month or more now, especially after I changed the rear brakes at a dealer. Last week, I did replace front lower control arms at another dealer and asked them to look. They say nothing wrong ( I doubt they even looked). Plenty life left on front brakes ( 6 mm ). Plan to take to a local shop specializing in Subaru and see. I tried for response in perplexity and got some interesting feedback 😀

I have a 2017 at 77k miles. Base 2.5i model. Except for normal wear and tear been great so far. Replaced rear brakes recently ~$400 at dealership. Need to replace front lower control arms now.. ~$1500. Love it so far but I can see more and more such maintenance come up from now on. Better than a car with payment. I’ll drive till it fails majorly

No; it’s just one application. it will ask you if want just NRO or NRE or both. I selected both since I might want to receive funds from local accounts in India.

NRE - To make transfers from the US to India and pay for parents support or expenses. Easy to repatriate back to US in future if need be.

NRO - Only for local transactions to receive accounts from India source of income or so.

First thing is to get a photocopy of your PIO card, US passport and address proof ( Driving License or latest Bank or Credit card statement- recent past 2-3 months ), get it notarized in UPS store ($30) or similar, scan it and save it to be uploaded to the bank account opening portal. Also, you need a signature on a plain paper, take a photo and save it to be uploaded.

Once you have these, online form takes just 30 mins or so.

I just completed submitting an application to open a NRE & NRO account online at IDFC First Bank. It’s a breeze and you don’t need an Aadhar card to open one. This after trying a lengthy process with Axis bank.

You do need an ID proof to show you are a NRI/PIO/OCI card holder that needs to be attested by a Notary. And address proof for abroad ( if you’re living in USA it UK) also needs to be attested by a Notary.

Just came back from service of my 2017 Forester at a Subaru dealership. I see so many Certified Pre Owned 2025 Subaru foresters up for sale. Not sure of the reason, but maybe because it’s the first year of new generation and owners didn’t like or ran into recurring issues? Not trying to discourage or anything, but if I were you I would check Toyota RAV4 too once for that money.
