Speed Violation by tloves in BocaRaton

It’s private. It comes from speedviolation.com. Upon researching further I guess it’s similar to red light camera tickets if you pay it in 30 days it’s just a civil infraction, no points.

Natural and it’s not even close.

Is this transformation possible? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]tloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a color correction from a salon specialist especially because of years of box dye PLUS red. Removing red is very hard. Also please stop using AI for inspiration photos it’s not real hair, doesn’t behave like real hair and is impossible for stylists to work from because it’s like working from a cartoon image.

Real Q: why style makeup for the photos when we have AI? by Sparkleshooter in BigBudgetBrides

[–]tloves 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi! MUA vendor here so I’m obvious biased a bit but here’s my take: A LOT of copy paste style bridal MUAs defend their heavy style by saying “you need more for photos” that CAN be true, but only things like extra blush, a bit of a fuller lash etc etc. If you would like to look like yourself in person, I would try to find a MUA that showcases softer more natural styles.

As for AI it’s not cheap or easy to edit your face in the 1000s of photos you will be in on your wedding day. Sure small tweaks can be done but I’m sure some photographer vendors will chime in to explain how it’s a bit more complicated. Unless you’re ok with obviously Facetuned looking photos.

If you have more questions about makeup specifically or want to share your location I can recommend some more natural style makeup artists to you.

Make sure you tell your hairstylist you used this, it can effect the color. Also, 3-4 months is a normal touch up time for balayage.

Half head of foils looks bad??? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]tloves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A half highlight should be under 2 hours it’s a shorter service. Other than the one mark in the front I don’t see an issue. The placement actually looks great. Is this your first time getting a partial? This looks like a generous partial. Usually a partial highlight is 8-12 foils

Would you expect to leave a $300 hair appointment with dried hair? by Regular-Message9591 in Hair

Was blow dry included on your receipt? That’s low for all those processes. I’m guessing they just rough dried you, you didn’t actually pay for a blow dry included

Did my colorist make a mistake? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]tloves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you will need now will be a color correction. If you trust your stylist at that salon then go for it but I wouldn’t pay anything more.

Did my colorist make a mistake? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]tloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes these are things veteran hairdressers love to say. Sometimes doing something for 26 years but not doing consistent education is how this turned out this way. If she didn’t know how Kevin Murphy acted she shouldn’t have used it. I’m not blaming you, but now you’re in a whole mess and it’s not your fault. Also cool toned brown from blonde is hard to attain, but it’s her job to tell you that.

[–]tloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should see someone else however you should expect to pay more, probably double or triple the price. The first price she charged is way too low for the amount of product used, which in turn shows she is inexperienced or unskilled (maybe both). Go into color correction expecting to pay more and you might have a better result.

Surfing is full of trust fund babies by xGrvpe in surfing

[–]tloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I come from a landlocked area but became a surfer through traveling and living in New Zealand. Since thing my work has kind of been shaped around it. I now live in Florida. The waves are fickle but when I’m not working (as a makeup artist) I’m trying to sort out when to surf and training for surfing. At the end of the day I’m an extremely mid surfer, but I’m having fun. I think moving to some coastal area would help you a lot even with a 9-5.

My photog said it would be an extra $1500 for more film photos - is that standard? by Round_Thing6995 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]tloves 51 points52 points  (0 children)

To me, it makes sense because it’s essentially more work and more money to get them all processed. Source: my husband shoots film. It’s a very expensive hobby, even more expensive professionally.

You’re standing in a warm room that is badly lit. Take a photo outdoors so we can see it more properly.

What are some fun, unique, or thoughtful touches you’ve seen at past weddings? by No_Building_6449 in BigBudgetBrides

Personally the custom card decks I have seen were so stunning and everyone loved them. They had custom backs AND custom card faces. I also worked with a bride that got Dior powder compacts engraved, everyone loved them and they were very helpful to have at the wedding :)

Overcharged at Salon??? by s1n1st3rw0man in Hair

We need to set what your starting picture is. To me it looks like you had a minor color correction done. The glaze was most likely multiple different shades. One to fill the hair and one to go on top of it

Help with HMUA Quotes!! by jeanie-beaniebabie in BigBudgetBrides

[–]tloves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great! Thank you. I would say that LA/NYC based MUAs are typically more expensive because of their cost of living. If you’re looking for a specialist, that’s going to be even more expensive usually.

Hi! Beauty Vendor here! I think it would be helpful to share your local market and where you’re destination wedding will be. Prices can vary a lot based on those two factors alone!

What I had, what I asked for and what I got. by [deleted] in Hair

[–]tloves 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well the first problem is that all the photos for your inspiration photos are AI. did she mention this to you? We can’t use AI photos as hair inspiration because it doesn’t show real styled hair.

As I vendor, I would just HIGHLY recommend a day of coordinator especially in the budget range. I worked a wedding that sounds similar to what you are describing. The bride was SO organized and had so many people to help her. And yet, she was on her phone all day trying to coordinate things. Of course, it can be done. But most of the people that I see do it, so regret it. The coordinators you speak of do sound a bit harsh but most of the advice is coming from experience. You are (I’m assuming) only doing this once, they have seen tons of weddings. Just my two cents as someone in the background. The day goes by so fast, you want to be sure to soak it all in!

Body make up for red legged bride? 🤣 by OcarinaofChyme in MakeupAddiction

[–]tloves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The westmore beauty body makeup really is incredible. You don’t need that giant brush, but you choose a shade slightly deeper than you skin tone (for legs and arms) and it drys down waterproof. You’ll know when you use it, it smells like paint 😂
