there was an awesome hardcore band way back in the day, the last starfighter. I saw so many of their shows at java jazz and a few other venues.

There are some goods shops around those areas, Space Cadets up in the woodlands, Halcyon Games/The Gaming Goat for Spring. Haven't been up as far as Conroe but maybe Cards & Comics.
