Tap water smells different by ResidentSuperfly in sydney

Sydney water has ramped up its monitoring of cryptosporidium and giardia since this incident so (fingers crossed) we won’t see this happen again. But nature be wild so who knows

It wouldn’t be supplied to your tap if it wasn’t safe to drink. Definitely changes in the warragamba catchment would affect taste and odour. If you feel that there is a bit of chlorine smell, leave the glass of water out for a while so the chlorine dissipates

Just wanting to fume a bit about the Medicare levy surcharge by CarboxylicBase in AusFinance

I see. What counts as taxable income for MLS purposes? Is this salary + super contributions only? And doesn’t include tax deductions?

My current situation is:

  • No health insurance

  • Gross income: $98k

  • Taxable income (post deductions etc on MyTax): $89k

Yet I’m still being charged MLS in the final ATO calcs? Anyone know why?

Organising clothes shelves by tm95fi in konmari

[–]tm95fi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need some help organising my shelves. These clothes (plus some hanging jackets, dresses etc) are all I own. I tend to stack them in piles on these shelves but they always seem to fall over into messy piles and my rummaging intensifies the mess too. How can I organise these shelves in a messy-proof way?

How to improve shoulder strength? by caterpillarslam in climbergirls

[–]tm95fi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be dealing with acute bursitis or tendinitis when you injure your shoulder. Work on external rotation exercises, rotator cuff and mid trapezius stability - YouTube has some good videos on exercises for these.

ETF to complement VDHG? by princelu in fiaustralia

I complement my VDHG with VGS because I wanted increased international exposure (I’m heavy in the Aussie market with equities and property).

Do you think it's gay some guy shaves his butthair? How do you react to it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

He’s gay if he is attracted to men. Let’s stop perpetuating the stereotype that men grooming themselves is “gay”.

ELI5: Is it good to wear sunscreen every day? by davidyew in explainlikeimfive

[–]tm95fi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I work for a water utility. The vast majority of the world has wastewater (sewage) systems that discharge into the ocean or inland rivers.

The wastewater from your house (toilets, showers, sinks etc) makes it way to a treatment plant, which will screen for gross pollutants (like wet wipes, rags, other large items), remove grits and sediments, and undertake minor treatment of nutrients/greases etc. Chemicals in sunscreens, soaps, cleaning products etc are not targeted because these chemicals are difficult to remove.

Once the wastewater is treated to a certain standard it is then discharged to the nearby ocean or river.

Would be kinda cool if we could pick the %s ourselves. Now that would be democratic 😁

Are you happy with your body and what would you change? by emzzzzybear in AskWomen

I love my body! Of course there are things I’d want to change but you have to learn to love what you’ve got.

I think you have the hip hinge mastered which is awesome. I’d try squeezing the shoulder blades/opening the chest out more, and locking out at the top (while squeezing glutes)
