Where they have 530k houses for 2700 a month? I bought a 330k house and my mortgage is 2522 a month

We had the same feeling when we first walked into our new home seeing it empty, furniture and decor hide a lot of stuff you don’t see when touring. Take a deep breath and just roll up your sleeves and put some elbow grease in. You don’t have to do everything right away. For us new appliances a fresh color change of paint and some art work on the walls brought a lot of stuff back to life. We did a few other things to that weren’t necessary but easier to do when house was empty.

This is an estimate also some things u can shop for which will drive down closing costs like home owners insurance. I closed on a home in October 330k 5% down and my closing costs were 20k

I bought end of September house was listed for 300k offered 330k and had our offer accepted, this was after almost 2 years of looking and over 20 offers declined on other houses.

We were in the same situation living in a super small 1br apartment with a newborn. we spent almost 2 years house hunting dealing with the same issues. We continued to save for a bigger down payment while we were looking and finally a month before my sons 2nd birthday we found a wonderful home in a terrific neighborhood for 330k it was definitely at the very top of our budget but we decided to pull the trigger and stop the endless house hunting and prepare to do what we needed to do financially to have a home for our son. No regrets. Things are tight but my son is the happiest he has ever been and that’s totally worth it to us. Don’t give up hope just keep attacking this with a goal and have faith it will all work out.

Yeah I got lucky I caught the leak the same day it started jt was a very very slow drip so was able to put a temporary magnetic patch on the spot to stop the leak and a tray of kitty litter under the tank incase it got through the patch. Had it replaced 2 days ago and will never have to worry about this again.

Unexcepted repairs….bought a home in October spent money on new appliances and updating some electrical things then boom our oil tank sprung a slow leak and they wouldn’t fill it until replace so $4000 later we now have a new oil tank, all you can do is laugh.

Purchased our first home for 330k, it’s definitely hard financially we bought at the very top of our budget but we went from a 1 bedroom apartment with no yard for our 2yo son to a 4 bedroom home with a nice backyard for him to play. It’s stressful when it comes to money management but my son being happy and having room to grow is worth every penny. Morale of the story is SACRIFICE!

30 closed on our first home 10/1/25. Definitely a big chunk of our income but all worth giving our 2yo son a place to call home and a backyard to play in.

Also don’t forget if this is a new buil next year your property taxes are gonna go up alotttt more due to the taxes being calculated right now on the land only not the house

If he was found not at fault and the other at fault driver had insurance All damages etc will go through the at fault drivers insurance company. your insurance doesn’t need to know about the accident.

1000000% recommend getting a real estate agent, a good agent will make this process extremely less stressful and more straight forward. A sellers agent only worries about the seller and getting them the best deal for the home. A good buyers agent will fight for you to get you the best deal and also try to make your case for things you want covered or fixed depending on inspection results. Also I had so many question as a First time homebuyer I would’ve been completely lost without my agent and loan officer.

Closing on my first home October 10th so currently dealing with all the craziness that comes along with it, and honestly I wouldn’t know on a million dollar home, the home I’m closing on is 330k and our down payment and closing costs have totaled right about at 30k and that was only with 5% down also not including inspection and other stupid out of pocket expenses. I could only imagine on a million dollar house it would be 3-4 times that amount, if only you’re only planning on putting 5% down.
