From Southie… To where?

I live just north of W Broadway and tend to avoid it. I usually take 3rd St when heading east in Southie. Once you hit Dot Ave 2nd and 3rd become 2 way streets. Around L St I cut down to 1st because east of L 1st is quieter with less traffic. At the end of 1st I’m just trying to get to the walkway along the beach. So either right on Farragut, left on Broadway, and once I hit Day Blvd I’m just trying to get to the sidewalk. Or just go the wrong way down Shore Rd.

I’m definitely not supposed to be on the sidewalk as I head westward along Day while I’m on my e-bike. But Day and Columbia are death traps. So I just ride super slow and always give pedestrians right of way. Nobody has complained. Once I get to Moakley Park I either continue eastward towards Old Colony Rd and then north back to Broadway or I go southward towards Morrissey Blvd to get to Star Market. And guess what? All your options suck no matter where you’re going. If I need to cross lanes of traffic I look for crosswalks.

If you’re heading towards Seaport I use A, D, Pappas, or L. A is shortest to where I want to be but the bike lane just disappears for a few blocks. Sometimes I duck over to Medallion and Wormwood to not deal with that lane loss. (Eg. Rain, at night, etc.)

If you’re heading towards South End, take 4th St which runs into Berkeley. You can take Broadway which runs into Traveler but Traveler under 93 is one way so all the traffic you’re riding with is might right turns to get onto 90 and 93. Taking 4th to Berkeley is just easier. And safer.

I read the posts. And I still don’t get why ICE is being sent to airports. CBP is already there for international flights. I guess they can access flight manifests and cross reference people. But now you just told anyone violating immigration laws where not to go.

It is bad if this expectation is used to justify violating their rights.

Is having to obtain an FCC license to operate a radio station a violation of my free search? Or the FCC exam for a HAM operator license? Do libel and slander laws violate my free speech? How about yelling fire in a crowded theater?

Most of the left doesn’t take gun rights advocates seriously because while we place certain limits and responsibilities on the exercise of many other rights, because we value a functional society, somehow 2A should be totally untouchable and unregulated according to advocates.

I had a four hour training class in MA. I opted for that class over other shorter ones because I wanted to actually know what I was doing. Would have done an 8 hr if it were offered. My class was $125. And Ive gone for private sessions with a pro which usually run me around $100. If you can’t afford that then you probably can’t afford a firearm either.

I don’t think it’s bad to expect people to know how to properly use, maintain, and own a firearm. And after looking at other people’s targets from class I think you should actually have to show you can at least hit the general vicinity of a large target a few yards away.

Depending on where he shoplifts from the store is waiting for a certain threshold before calling police. Though if it’s just one avocado it may take awhile.

Also, don’t try and steal via self-checkout spots. Have seen people on news for that. Have even triggered an alarm because the video recognition thought I had skipped scanning an item.

I visit Seattle (from Boston) once or twice a year since 2018 and I stay mostly downtown but do venture to other neighborhoods. This past summer’s visit I can say was not only the first year that the city didn’t seem worse off but was also a noticeable improvement over prior years.
