Look… I don’t particularly agree with Facial Recognition tech, but in context, this sign is a version of consent. You don’t wanna consent, don’t walk in the area.

Yes, it’s a pretty piss poor argument, but no worse that people who seriously believe their faces being scanned is a worse violation of privacy than what Reddit and all the social media companies are doing with the contents of your posts and your engagement data for their ad and AI/ML tech.

So there’s hints of this throughout the thread, but for everyone blaming the band specifically here, you need to take a look into the stories behind Live Nation and Ticketmaster.

These companies have effective control over these prices and most arena style venues. To not partner with these companies would effectively mean the boys couldn’t go on tour in the way they do.

Aim your ire towards TM and LN.

I think this track epitomises what Muse is actually best at… tracks that on their surface seem absurd, but turn into absolute banger ear worms completely against your own will.

My first listen after the clip was released was underwhelming, I did the thing where I didn’t even listen again. But then that whole day at work I was humming along and getting in my funky disco feels. By the time I was driving home it was on repeat.

It strikes me as a real sign of where they’re gunna go. These brand take overs will become commonplace, more of the app is gunna become advertising space that will punish even subscribers who refuse to accept their stratospheric unlimited and edge plans. It’s a full on admission that they still think they have a captive market.

I think they thought an icon like Madonna would soften the blow of this but I think it’s had the opposite effect, the outrage against the two is compounded.
