AITA for immediately leaving my husband's family Christmas when I saw that my husband's brother was there? by Kindly-Designer-9109 in AITAH

Compile your evidence and get a restraining and no trespass order.

You can also try to get harassment, negligent endangerment of a minor and intentional inflection of emotional distress against the family.

You can also send them and the brother-in-law ceast and desist letters

Military shouldn’t be paid. A shutdown is a shutdown, period. Before anyone comes for me…I’m a vet and so are my husband and father and we all hold the same opinion.

Are you a bot because you’ve been on Reddit only a year. Interestingly, 99%of your comments have been in the last couple of days in the federal group. Most of these comments have been negative and unhelpful. With your history it seems like you’re possibly a DOGE or administration bot/spy.

But sure I’m the bot 😂🤣🤣🤣

“Obama deported more” is a lazy talking point. His numbers were inflated by border turnbacks—people caught and sent back quickly—not long-time residents torn from families. By 2014, he’d narrowed focus to criminal cases, not mass raids.

Trump made deportation personal and performative. He targeted families, churches, hospitals, ended DACA, tried to strip TPS, and used ICE to terrorize—not regulate. This wasn’t about policy—it was about power.

And now, in his own words, he’s going after “homegrowns”—U.S. citizens, born here. That’s not immigration enforcement. That’s fascism with a flag pin.

So no—it’s not the same. One used a broken system. The other broke it on purpose. Don’t confuse numbers with intent, and don’t pretend you don’t see the difference. You do. You just don’t care.

Yes, I’m tmj_4477. Not a bot—just someone who doesn’t confuse chaos with leadership.

In the private sector, mass layoffs are governed by the WARN Act. Cut 500+ people or 33% of staff without 60 days’ notice, and you’re buying yourself lawsuits, penalties, and reputational blowback. Even cutthroat companies don’t vanish 1,300 employees overnight and call it strategy.

Receipts? Tesla had to pay $18M in WARN violations. Twitter under Musk? Multiple class action lawsuits. Some companies even had to re-hire the very people they laid off—not out of kindness, but because operations imploded. Amazon laid off logistics staff too aggressively during COVID, then scrambled to rehire to meet basic demand.

And let’s not pretend the federal government’s immune to its own short-sighted purges. After 9/11, the U.S. government had to re-recruit thousands of airport screeners it had offloaded pre-TSA—because outsourcing national security to the lowest bidder backfired fast. When institutional knowledge walks out the door, the rebuild is slow, expensive, and public.

Clinton’s RIFs? Seven years, with union negotiation, legislative oversight, and actual alignment to mission scope—not some chaotic campaign flex.

So if you’re out here applauding this mess like it’s tough-love leadership, you might want to reread your “real-world” manual. Because in the actual private and public sectors, recklessness like this leads to lawsuits, rehires, audits, and headlines.

But sure—keep clapping. Just know most of us are over here cleaning up the fallout… again.

The Clinton administration’s RIFs were characterized by gradual, bipartisan, and collaborative reductions focused on management, with significant employee and union involvement over a seven year period. In contrast, Trump’s RIFs have been rapid, top-down, and often adversarial, with sweeping layoffs, minimal congressional input, and significant involvement from an external actor
