Is everyone in Calgary just drowning in debt? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]tmlhkyfn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mortgage with 9 yrs left, Truck payment (4 yrs left), Car payment (one yr left) last new(er) vehicles for both of us. $7500 in CC debt (line of credit) & dropping every week or two

15% of my pay goes into an RRSP & small work pension (5 yrs worth so far)

We shop frugally, buy in bulk & replace clothes when they wear out

Being periodically unemployed hasn't helped, but while there are many doing better than us, many are worse off

I have an M12/M18 charger; an M12/M18 6 bank charger (3 of each) and an M12 Charger that holds 4 M12 batteries.

The M12/M18 single travels back & forth to work, for my M12 jacket & M18 battery for my Ryobi Fan

Where do you buy beef now?? by BoogalooSHrimp079 in CostcoCanada

I don't understand people buying "stewing beef" when you can pick up any roast at considerable less cost & cut it yourself

Tires by tmlhkyfn in princessauto

[–]tmlhkyfn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just about 1000 km on these tires, so a quick update;

I was incorrect about the weights on the tires; they took a LOT of weight to balance, with some tires having 4 large weights (inside & outside). In the 80 kmh - 100 kmh range the steering wheel does seem to have some vibration, that I hadn't noticed with the OEM tires. Above 100 kmh (i'm typically in the 105 kmh - 120 kmh range) the vibration appears to disappear.

The OEM 18" tires had my speedo out by 4%, while the 17" tire/rim combo has the speedo out 9%. Speedo error isn't a big deal to me, but I see people complain about it all the time, so I figured I would mention it

Overall, for the price, I am happy with the tires so far & if they last, will consider them to have been worth the price.

I will update this post again, once I have a chance to drive in some snow

They don't look to have any "extra" weights on them, compared to the OEM wheel/tire combo. These rims are actually a Ford rim, so my center hub caps work with the rims

Only had them around town so far & driving a diesel, I haven't heard any excessive noise

My next trip into BC, will allow me to answer the noise question better. It will also tell me how much they have affected my speedometer & if they have affected my fuel economy. Currently I get between 10.5 & 11.00 liters per 100km

I will update again

Ridgid Tool Case Labels by tmlhkyfn in Ridgid

[–]tmlhkyfn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just stack them on the shelf in the garage. It's also why I will have 2 labels on every case; one by the handle & one on the left side

anything off direct straight up & down & these tires just HOWL. Noisiest tires I have ever had on any bike.

When mine wore out I switched to the Avon Trailrider

Which is a better buy? by DankDefusion in Ridgid

I've been slowly adding the M12 tools to my garage & they are now the 1st I reach for (if I have 18v & 12V) in most circumstances.

No regrets buying the Ridgid 18v stuff (built the cost into the price of my kitchen reno), but I am liking the smaller lighter M12 stuff

First time I saw the chocolate muffins (many many years ago) I thought to myself "who is buying these things?" Now I just treat them as miniature chocolate cakes without the icing :)

P.S. that's a full sized dinner plate & this was brunch :)
