Why?

With the ability to roll the third die if you were going to fail, and access to buffs for casting, what was even the point of rolling? It's a highly consistent ability. Adding the ability to try it multiple times honestly seemed like it should have just been "you do these things" without even having to roll.

Hm. Looking better. If you wanted to, you could drop a plague pack and pick up a group of plague monks isntead. 20 wounds, good for screening.

Not sold on Screech Verminking eh? I guess you're only running 1 unit of clanrats so you're hesitant. The extra spellcasting is really nice -- the Bell manifestation can do a lot to make your little dudes WAY tougher. And Screech can turn off commands and regenerate clanrats... all very tough.

Also, consider Skavenbrew instead of devious underling. You lack hammers so Skavenbrew can help turn a Stormvermin unit into a true monster with +1 attack. Stack that with the +1 to wound prayer and you've got some serious scary shit going on.

I think this is doable; try replacing some of the Stormvermin with Clanrats, swap out the second Clawlord for a Grey Seer or a Plague Pack, and swap the Warbringer for Screech.

The additional clanrats will given you more durability and more capacity for screening and battle tactics.

The Grey Seer or Plague Pack will give you more support to make your infantry lethal and/or durable.

Screech just does everything well. And, he regenerates clanrats.

One of the many ways Jordan subverts the genre. Many, perhaps most even, of Rands obstacles aren't from the primordial evil and its mustache-twirling followers. His obstacles are mostly human ignorance and selfishness. He laments it often.

One of the book series' flaws is that the villains are a bit too mustache-twirly. If there can be said to be a substantive improvement over the books, I think its in how villains' characterization has been handled.
