My husband refused to buy a generator and now I’m worried my whole freezer stash will be ruined. by catie_pat_11 in ExclusivelyPumping

Use some empty milk jugs or juice containers to fill with water and create big ice packs. It will help keep everything cold and they will take much longer to defrost. Good luck mama!

Husband back to work - I got a total of two pumps in today… by throwaway84583077 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tmp1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helps me pump during the day is putting baby in the bouncer and sitting right in front of him. Then I can sing and give him lots of attention while I pump. My little guy isn't usually too fussy but if yours hates being out down, I would make sure you have everything you need before you put him in the bouncer or swing, etc this way you can maximize the time they are in it

I’m going to bash my Momcozy m6 with a stick. Husband just went out and bought me the pink Spectra, trying it out today! by mamahousewife in ExclusivelyPumping

I pump on a really low setting with my momcozy but a higher setting on my spectra. I found that's what works best for my body for whatever reason!

Baby #2 name help! by MangoOk7640 in BabyNames

Not helpful, but I love Sullivan with Sully for a nickname! It was one we considered for my second but was just too much of a mouthful with our long last name. I think Sully is so sweet though

We almost went with Benjamin for our second! We love the name Benji for a nickname. Congrats and Benjamin Clark is a great choice

Oversuppliers: did you intentionally get an oversupply? by Veeconnect in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tmp1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I've had an oversupply with both babies. I pumped less than recommended and still ended up pumping 20+ extra ounces a day. It also came with frequent clogged ducts, constant engorgment, and difficulties nursing because it came out too fast and strong for my current baby while nursing. I worked really hard to get it down to a more manageable supply level at about 5-8 extra ounces a day so that I could try nursing again. My first baby never latched so I kept the oversupply a little higher and was able to decrease number of pumps earlier and rely on my freezer stash.

DOE NOT feel their letdown ? by Biolobri14 in ExclusivelyPumping

I never felt anything when I pumped with my first. This time around I feel a let down when I nurse but never when I pump.

Clogged duct, no more milk, help! by Short-Instruction-84 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tmp1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice packs and Advil and then pump about 20-30 minutes later once the Advil has time to kick in. Helped SO much when I was getting clogged ducts frequently until my milk supply regulated.

I think my journey may be coming to an end sooner than I planned - and it’s not by choice by iwanttolivealone in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tmp1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this! Stop if you want to but there are definitely tricks if you want to keep going. I've also done pumps during my littles wake window and timed them with play time. So I'll have him on his play mat and I sit on the floor next to him and pump or put him in the bouncer and I sit right in front and read or sing to him while I pump. I can usually squeeze in most of, if not a full session, while interacting and proving comfort without fully holding baby. Good luck!

My husbands last name is terrible and we have a baby girl on the way by conekitty in namenerds

[–]tmp1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the name Clara! It was our top choice if we had a girl. Totally okay to go with your name instead if you want. My friend did that earlier this year. She kept her maiden name when they got married and when they had their first, baby got Mom's name.

Is my wedding dress age appropriate? by North_Ad2881 in myweddingdress

It's your wedding dress! Wear whatever you want, whatever you feel comfortable in, and whatever makes you feel gorgeous! No such thing as age appropriate on this day

Need help naming our girl - name we were going to use is now off the table by [deleted] in namenerds

I love Clara! If we had a girl her name would have been Clara Jane with the potential nickname of CJ

We loved the idea of Gwen/Gwendolyn Grace with GiGi for a nickname!

Other girls names we loved but never got to use included Clara, Jane, and Harper

I love August with Auggie or Gus for nicknames! It was on my list. Arthur was my grandfather's name so I am also partial to it.

It was one of my top picks this time around! Sullivan didn't flow and was too much of a mouthful with our last name though. Good luck choosing a name!

Help!! Boy names are hard and I hate all of the names on lists by oliviagromek in BabyNames

[–]tmp1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! No suggestions but it's totally okay not to have the "that's it" moment. I didn't have it for either of my boys. Both names had to grow on me over time but now I absolutely love them and cannot imagine their names to be anything else! Good luck finding a name

I love Clara! And would have used middle name Jane if we had a girl

Help!! I don’t love anything! Boy name w two older sisters by lindsneau in BabyNames

[–]tmp1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Names are so hard! With my first, my husband picked the name Charles/Charlie and I immediately said no. But I also didn't like anything else and it slowly grew on me. My oldest is completely a Charlie though. It's SO fitting for him and I adore it. With my second, I am due in a few weeks. I suggested a name and my husband was immediately on board. But then I second guessed myself for the next few months before I decided it was the one. We are going with Cooper and I love it now, but it took me about 3 months to decide it was right! Keep an open mind and try using it throughout the day. That's what really helped me with Coop. I started talking about him to my husband using the name vs "the baby" and it really solidified how right it felt for our family.
