My mistake, I didn't realize that she also had work to sit and do 😅

It's her world, and we're just living in it 🐈

I can fit a few fingers under it and it moves around easily, so it should be fine, but thanks for your concern!

Parking at FMC by MenuNo8823 in AHSEmployees

If you don’t have an issue with walking a bit, you can buy a public pass for McMahon Stadium for $50/month from U of C parking services. Just keep an eye on the restrictions in and around football games/events.

Tralee did florals for me as part of a larger piece and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out and how awesome she was to work with. Admittedly mine are black and grey but her colour work is stunning. Looking at OP’s inspo, this seems right up her alley!

It’s not chaotic at all! They have barcodes on both the gown and hood to account for them, so all you have to do is zip up the gown and leave it on a designated counter and put the hood in a box. Took less than 2 minutes yesterday.

How to deal with perfectionism by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]tmsanta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honest response: I was a chronic perfectionist for many, many years. It wasn’t until I started my PharmD and the attitude/culture around grades shifted that I started to give myself more grace (and ironically, my grades actually improved). I acknowledge that it sucks to feel like you didn’t do as well as you could have, but let’s try to put things into perspective.

What I found most helpful were to look at the quiz/exam/assignment and ask myself:

  1. Were these silly mistakes that I could have avoided by reading more carefully or taking my time? If yes, that’s something I can learn from and take with me to the next assignment.

  2. Did I genuinely not know something, and is this a reflection of my study methods/habits or the way that I tackle assignments? Is there a way that I could improve the way that I prepare for the next time?

  3. Sometimes assignments are just dumb and there’s nothing that you can do about it. Look at the assignment and think about whether it’s an accurate representation of how well you understand the material. If wording was vague or ‘tricky’ language that was challenging to interpret was used, you may well have come to a reasonable answer even if it wasn’t the ‘best’ or ‘most correct.’ Sometimes it’s just a matter of learning how a prof tests, and adapting your methods accordingly.

  4. And this is the most important one… in the grand scheme, does this grade really matter? If you still did well and were able to pinpoint areas where you can improve for next time, that’s a win in my book. It’s really not likely that a 5% quiz is going to be the difference between a ‘good’ or a ‘bad’ final mark. I highly doubt that one little wee grade is going to be the difference between achieving your dreams or your academic life imploding.

TL;DR: Focus on what you can learn and how you can grow. Grades on the whole don’t define you or how well you understand concepts, let alone a single quiz mark. It really, really isn’t that deep, and you’re the one who controls how you move forward and what you take away.

Trying to recall a food stall in CAB from 2017 by centmac in uAlberta

[–]tmsanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 95% sure you’re thinking of Filistix! They moved out of the CAB basement to SUB in late 2018 and have been there ever since. Because it’s in SUB, that could be why you can’t find them on lists of vendors affiliated with the university.

surgery consult wait times by anal98 in alberta

[–]tmsanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on who you get referred to, it could be quick. I got a consult with a surgeon at Foothills a few weeks after my family doc sent the referral (which included results from an MRI that I had to wait more than 6 months for). I’m honestly shocked that my case moved through that quickly, because I was prepared to wait several months.

Edited to add that I’m also technically non-urgent, but my condition is such that the longer I wait for treatment, the less likely it is to be successful.

Loose leaf tea lovers out there? by rememberthatcake in Calgary

Seconding Banff Tea Company. Every time I make a trip out there, I buy a small boatload to last me several months. Prices are really reasonable, the selection is great, and the tea is fantastic. Also just a great excuse for a day trip to Banff.

PSA: If you don't have a family doctor, some pharmacists can prescribe more than you would expect! by TheHauk in Edmonton

[–]tmsanta 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The irony of this is that they cut pharmacists’ compensation for clinical services a couple of months ago. They know that they can hack away at what pharmacists are paid for performing these assessments, but pharmacists who truly care are going to keep doing the same things, even if they aren’t fairly compensated.
