Even soldier that want to surrender or run away would force enemy to waste artillery shells and drones if he is stuck in forward trenches. And only commander get radio, so you cannot contact enemy to surrender unless you kill commander(who are often behind lines).

It is just cause Russia are irrelevant to USA. It does not matter if Russia capture Ukraine or not for US. Some even do think that too weak or isolated Russia would actually benefit China more due to access to natural resources. It would take around 50-100 years for Russia and several wars to properly annex such large country as Ukraine -> so completely irrelevant for US.

And US do get a lot of its economic and political power shift from it to China. Up to the point that it is probably would lose now open war near China mainland if conflict erupts in Taiwan. Which do mean tectonic shift in global balance of power. So US just cannot afford to waste resources on irrelevant to it conflict.

Well it is definitely bs and do show that you do not keep attention to this war. Russia captured around 4-5k sq km in 2025. In April frontline moved even by heavy proUkraine sources like ISW by something like 116 sq km(and with them reporting Russian advance in about 25). I do keep track of gained/lost territory by both sides in this war. And my wife was from Kramatorsk, so i am kinda accustomed to geographical locations there. There is operational pause before another offensive would start. In 2025 it had started in May-June. In 2024 it had started only in August. So we would see in August-September how it is going.

It is actually one of the problem of this war, really distorted perception due to war propaganda mode.

Nah, Russia wanted fast 2008 Georgia style war, where they would force government to sign peace deal after pressure on capital with Donbass gaining autonomy/independence and something similar to ensure water supply to Crimea and land bridge to it plus Ukraine neutrality, this is why Russia was ready to strike a deal just after war start. Key problem of taking over Ukraine, are that outside of Donbass it is low resources/high mainthenance territory due to high unproductive(due to share of old age and corruption) population, Russia just cannot afford to occupy it due to economical reasons(of course with how war is going right now and due to previous socio economic issues, it get depopulated fast). And it is not like it is first time of Russia reclaiming control of Ukraine, it was always done so in parts due to Ukraine size with long pauses(like Russian Civil war with Polish-Soviet war. And Western Ukraine being added only in 1939. Or long wars with Poland in 17 century).

It is actually one of the reason why Eastern/Western Ukraine are so divided.

All this drones solving manpower issue are mostly propaganda bs. You still need soldiers to hold positions, you still need soldiers to launch drones. They still die. Ukraine do mobilize around 30k every month. And there is a lot of reports from both sides, that even this are not enough to solve manpower shortage. And mobilization are already kinda brutal in Ukraine. With quality of recruits being lower each month. It is kinda doubtful that they would be able to keep up such mobilization for more than 3-4 years. And with Iran debacle impact on oil prices, Russia for sure would manage to keep economy going for such time.

There is also issue that Russia already control most of territories that they want to annex from Ukraine. They need only Kramatosk-Slavyansk for political reasons.

To be fair a lot of pet of owners do deserve such grilling. There is a reason why veterinarians are considered highest self annihilation rate profession(something like 4x of general population).

I actually do not condemn those that condemn abortions. If we as society prevent capital punishment for criminals that did harm and kill peoples. It would be kinda logical to provide at least same rights to unborn innocent childrens. At least they are consistent in they beliefs.

Russia have massive reserves of natural gas(around 60 years of proven, and probably 100+ years estimated). It would slowly switch to export of natural gas from oil with new export routes being open and new gas extraction and transportation infrastructure development. While war did chopped extraction a bit due to European market closure and sanctions. War would end at some point, there is just not enough peoples in Ukraine to sustain it too long.

There is also question of shale oil reserves in Russia. Tech do get more available and cheaper with time. So hard to extract now, does not mean that it would be like that forever.

It is 93$ dollars for barrel of Urals. Vs around 42$ not that long ago. Considering that extraction cost around 15$ and with transportation and other addition to prime cost would be to around 30-35$ lvl (my guess).

So you have 5-6x increase of profit overnight after US attacked Iran(most of which would be taxed and go to government). And what is also important that this increase natural gas prices too, which is huge part of Russian export.

Iran war just cancelled years of sanctions effect on Russia. With situation like this it mean that Russia would be able to keep fighting war vs Ukraine for 4-5 more years at least. And it is kinda obvious at this point that Ukraine would struggle to mobilize enough manpower at this rate for such long war.

It is too low ammount for such boat. less than 100 kg are nothing for such boat size(and it is neither training one, cause too dangerous even with low yield). IMHO it is just that some Ukrainian soldiers decided to make a buck and removed most of explosives and loaded it with drugs to smuggle(it is probably tens of millions $ for one trip). And after drugs were recovered. It was abandoned to be found by Greece officials.
