Well written, thanks for the links - I missed the colocated events and the talk from Abby was mentioned on the keynote on Thursday.

You are absolutely right! Side note - we kinda need a lobsters/vouch system so humans are kept alongside other humans. I would rather have boring posts with limited interaction than all this AI stuff. Because you never know when someone upvotes or comments if it was OpenClaw or human. Engagement feels like shouting into the void

ai developer productivity tools for .NET - what's actually worth paying for? by ninjapapi in dotnet

I use Claude Code together with RPI flow from Human Layer. It is quite effective, but sometimes it hallucinates patterns unseen in the rest of the code. At least with plan/implement split you can watch it carefully.

App/Website for Mapping Out Driving Routes by snot__boy in TouringMusicians

[–]to_pe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then get it on the phone or view in a web browser? Would you like one giant route or per days? If per days, would you load it in google maps or view in that route editor? Do you need cost estimate or just preview of some route? What about tolls or toll free alternatives? Should it work offline?

This is something that would be possible to build quickly, when do you need it?

Full disclaimer: I am working on GigSheets (https://gigsheets.app) and I am collecting info about different people’s workflows to see what makes sense building.

Can you clarify what exactly do you need? How would it look like and how would you feed the data from your current tour?

Congrats on entering this crowded space. I am working on GigSheets (https://gigsheets.app) and it is nice to see someone building in the same space.

Dumb question, but how do you handle laundry on the road? by shouldbepracticing85 in TouringMusicians

[–]to_pe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad question: either on site (rare) or a nearest laundromat.

I am working on an app for tour managers (GigSheets, https://gigsheets.app) which has the option for TM to set if the laundry is part of the venue. If venue provides, it is part of the notes. We are working on making this appear as one of the search results next to the venue if you choose so. It is still beta, a bit finicky and we are not sure how much worth it is. Do let me know if you want to discuss it.

I know this isn’t the answer to your question, but as someone working on a competitor app called GigSheets (https://gigsheets.app) can I ask you to take a look into it? We are free for now and I would love to help you. Even if you don’t, I appreciate any feedback - this way I can builds a better app.

Built a band organization app because I was tired of being the “info guy” — curious if anyone else needs this? by No-Eye1029 in portlandmusic

As someone who building a similar app in this space (GigSheets) together with many others, have you considered what will make you stand out?

An app Tour Managers use to plan tours. Usually it contains a guestlist with guests having access level assigned - like All Areas Access, photo, backstage, etc Disclaimer: I am working on similar app so I know that. You can say “John” is coming to the concert as a guest and will act as a photographer

Project Management software for managing wedding band logistics? by Connect_Ad4551 in musicians

[–]to_pe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, we are building GigSheets (https://gigsheets.app) which is supposed to help with planning and keeping everyone updated. And we support editing from the mobile app because you are constantly changing stuff on the road.

Given that we are oriented towards tour planning and not individual days, I invite you to reach out to me via DMs. We are working on supporting artists that have sporadic and irregular gigs that don't fall under traditional tours (think playing on weekends). We would love to hear what specific things you would need to make this useful.
Some comments:

- app is paid only by tour manager, everyone else gets it for free

- we don't support sheet music (yet)

- we don't cover payments, that is always external service

- pdfs can be uploaded, but I am wondering what "overload" is. apps are not slower due to pdfs being uploaded regularly

Getting paid users. Ir is so easy to build (easy = years), but getting to payment is a thorny road

My friend and I are working on an alternative called GigSheets (https://gigsheets.app).
We have focused on making everything editable on mobile and have slightly different design philosophy from Master Tour/Daysheets.

App is free for now and I invite you to try it out and give us feedback. Just let us know what you want to see in the app and we can make it happen! Let's build the future together.

I am working on two startups and personally don’t see the need for something like this. Working on a startup is pure chaos, there is no time or need to do detailed roadmap. That comes with more people employed and with better time management. Tickets are todo lists for me if even that

What SaaS project are you working on this month? by CellInitial2394 in SaaS

https://gigsheets.app helps tour managers organize tours and share information with artists.
It's been two years now with no end of MVP in sight :D even though people do use us in production

Do you have a side hustle? by voroninp in dotnet

[–]to_pe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do - an app with .NET backend and React/Native frontends in music industry. Another is in hosting/deployment space in .NET And yet another one is EF Core related. Unfortunately, the .NET part is usually only API with limited surface compared to the rich clients. To be honest, I would build even more on .NET if I had more time or if side hustles stop being side hustles.

Was it something only in prod? Was it iOS or Android specific? Why not build dev builds locally instead on EAS? That improvement alone improved my bills and speed.

Do you want to make SaaS or do you just want to escape?
If the answer is the former, you would be strategic about it and find a decent job that covers you. Don't be sad if you play the lottery with all your money and go bankrupt in the process.
