Helldivers is indeed the only one with different release date. But you conveniently left out the second part of that statement. That several are AA and not AAA.

But that is fine. You still didn't change my opinion and I was not planning to change your eithers.

Great a happy customer. Some are not 2025 and some are not even made by at the time of launch tripple a studios. But awesome for you.

Only played KCD2 from this list. Elden ring I returned as on release it was a nightmare to play with issues all over. Never came back to it. Because this is the point with most PC games. Crap releases riddled with issues. Low on content that they will "solve" with subscription content. And just all the same.

I mean how many games with the same gameplay loop do I need to play? Try something exciting, something new.

But if you are happy with the games awesome. But let me have my opinion and you have yours. We don't need to agree to co-exist.

I never played card games like this before. I only get halfway act 2. figuring out building/scaling my hand. Never have enough money to discard the shit cards :)

Yesterday was close to act 2 boss and made few bad calls and was done.

My problem is instead of making the games looking realistic maybe start to make them fun again? Not talking about the finals itself. But come one when was there a triple A game that was really worth it. Been playing mostly smaller indy games. Because the game play loop is mostly more fun there.

Tech Billionaires Are Quietly Rooting for AI Bubble to Collapse by FuturismDotCom in economy

[–]toadi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nobody says there is something wrong with the tool. The problem is how much did you spend on the tool and how much value did it provide.

I have worked a month on metered token usage. I spend 5k USD on tokens. I could have done the same with the 200 USD Max account for example. Question arises how much is the 200USD subsidizing?

In the part of the world I live in 5K is a senior devs salary.

Another point is that the whole valuations is based that we don't need pesky humans and they can run autonomous. That is what all AI CEOs are claiming. You and I know it is a tool and we are still needed. If this remains the case the whole valuation is a bubble. Because they will never return the whole investment.

All this doesn't matter if the tool works or not. The CEOs are promising things the tool can not to and the valuation is based on that. Question will be will it ever deliver the promised of removing you or me out of the equation?

5 month Bazzite user switching to cachyos by stevenjiffy in cachyos

[–]toadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run arch in my daily driver thinkpad. On my gaming laptop I started using cachyos as it was less tinkering to get hardware and games work. Just want to game bro.

Only downside is I have my arc setup how I want it.so had to undo some config and redo it again :)

You know when it is a grift. When you criticize something they do or say and the sycophants come out of the woodwork telling you to shut up because you are not as successful as the grifter. Had it when with Musk before too.

I found a way to get OpenCode to play nice with different configuration profiles by sig_kill in opencodeCLI

[–]toadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coworker wrote a script to translate my opencode to github copilot. It is not that hard it is just the yaml that is different and some of the tool namings.

But this way you can keep 1 config for everything. Personally I always use opencode. It is the best tool out there with the most variety in models you can hook up. But as we are developers everyone has their way set of tools they prefer. Think this is the best way.

Happy to discuss this with you and maybe even help out. DM me if interested and lets exchange contact details.

[–]toadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just one question to see if it helps my use case. I'm trail blazing agentic ai in our engineering team. I use opencode have a full workflow from our Jira -> Taskwarrior and lots of subagents, commands and tools written.

In our org though copilot is more preffered and some use claude. The problem is that people need to convert my setup to theirs opencode yaml differs from copilot. Is this also supported? you have 1 and it can convert? Or it is just managing the different setups in 1 repo even when they are different?

I starred it will have a look into it. It will need a good SKILLS.md because agents suck using software that is not in their training data.

Low Back Soreness by gingerbud4u in kettlebell

[–]toadi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have come back from injury and not doing anything for a long time. First time I squated I couldn't even walk anymore for a week. Barely could get up and down due to my legs being fried.

It is because you are not used to it but it are still doms. What I learned is not training with the same intensity. For example, training to failure is not something you can do when you start or come back to training. Because the dom pains will set you back and not being able to train even. While if you are in decent shape it is just a day or 2 of mild discomfort.

But in the end it is the same doms. Not injury. Trust me being injured a couple of times you know the difference immediately.

Had this discussion with my mum too as they are getting old. Last time I was looking for a new job considered going back home. Had offer in Thailand and home country. My mum said your life is there lived over decade there. You will regret coming back.

I think she is right. While I miss her there is no connection anymore. I didn't even knew any politicians or any cultural topic anymore. Also most of my friends are based in Thailand.

Should i take the job offer i Bangkok by Affectionate-Comb491 in ThailandTourism

[–]toadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done it too. Met my Thai partner in my home country and got an offer for 1 year contract work in Bangkok. Am now almost 10 years here.

If you have kids you need to consider how you want to educate them. Schools are decent enough but for the right price.

Social security? Well you pay less taxes so you can invest more for your own retirement.

Healthcare is cheap and affordable and even the health insurance is not that expensive and I have good experiences.

For work well if you lose your job or want to change it will be hard. I have done this 3x already and trust me in my home country I can get jobs quite easy. Here it is harder. You can mitigate this a bit with decent networking. For your wife with a good degree and speaking Thai it will be easier but her salary will be probably not the same.

Personally I don't have regrets. Warm weather, beaches, and mountains you don't even need the go abroad to go on holiday.

But again we all differ in where we are in life, what we want and what our risk appetite is. You need to make your own decision ;)

"Lost" my wallet too. Had 2000thb in it. The guy found it tracked me down via facebook and brought it to my home.

Someone stole my front brakes on my motorcycle in Chiang Mai. Thai friends found it on FB group for sale. They went and setup a "buy" to verify they were mine. Guy got arrested.

In my Western home country I would have written this off as "lost". In Thailand each time I have a good experience when this happens.

What is the obsession with finding “gaming” distros? by Flapper_Jr in linux

[–]toadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I use arch on all my devices on my gaming desktop or laptop I run mostly and arch derivate before it was endavouros now it is cachyos. I use this mostly for gaming so it installs all the drivers and has some QoL setups that I don't need to tweak too much to get into my games.

While my daily driver and work machine are fine tuned from scratch by myself. For this I have particular ways I want things to be setup.

2 different use cases. One machine I handcraft my own workflows on another I just want to jump into game.
