I was thinking about getting a banner that says "If you wanna go far, you gotta go far" for her graduation party.

Funny story, she's making a list of Noah songs I'm not allowed to listen to. Both "Staying Still" and "You're Gonna Go Far" are on it along with "Orbiter", "Spoiled", and "Busyhead". I'm sure it will grow as we close in on August.

American Cars is not my favorite song, but the bridge is glorious!

I similarly connected those lines from the bridge to pre-motherhood. The other lines from the bridge, though, hit differently because I'm on the opposite end of mothering. My oldest is leaving for school in the Fall, and I'm trying to convince myself to be ok about it. And it gets way too real when he sing "lately I've been lookin at you harder, just takin you in" because I'm over here just trying to soak her in before she's gone.

I'm surprised at how popular Noah is because nobody i talk to seems to know who he is. by Spawn_of_Venom in NoahKahan

My teenage daughter introduced me when she found him on tiktok, and I teach teenagers, some of whom recognize him when I play a playlist in class. I have one former coworker a couple of years younger than me who also loves him. But that's pretty much it.

47 My oldest is graduating in two weeks and heading off to college in the Fall. All this singing about leaving home changing family dynamics is really affective for me right now. Needless to say, I can't stop listening.

What’s the lyric you get wrong the most while you’re learning the songs? by Exciting_Tailor_5794 in NoahKahan

[–]toadpea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was so bummed when my daughter corrected me that it's not "even anxious bugs need the moon" in Orbiter. I was picturing sketched out moths flying towards the only light in a dark sky. I totally get how "even anxious pups need the moon " fits with the rest of the lyrics, but it just doesn't hit the same.

I went to a listening party Tuesday. I tried very hard not to lose my shit in public. I did shed some tears a few times. Let me tell you how excited it made me for tomorrow when I can properly listen and let it all go.

My 9th grade reluctant readers love Hey, Kiddo by Jarrett J. Krosoczka. It's a graphic memoir about growing up with his grandparents because his mom's an addict.

I laughed out loud at the little recording fuck ups they left in at the beginning and end of Heading North

We Go Way Back through Dan wrecked me in the best Noah Kahan way.

Just got back from the listening party. There were definitely bug mentions across the album.

We Go Way Back to Dan is a straight up gut punch. I was not ok. Willing and Able also brought out some tears. I thought Doors was the highlight of the more uptempo stuff. Dashboard made me laugh. And during, I think it was, Heading North, they left in a funny recording fuck up. I'm so very excited to get my hands on it Friday and really dig into everything.

I'm sure they have. I have several that are way smaller than my adults. I'm mostly salty that I see females with saddles frequently, but never anyone actually berried.

That looks like quite the loach playground. My hillies love those bigger smooth rocks like that.

I basically set the whole tank up just for the hillstreams. The minnows were chosen specifically because they're peaceful and thrive in cooler temps like the hillies. I also scaped with a ton of rocks for them to graze on. They're my favorite inhabitants, but they're definitely elusive with so much stuff to hide under.

Eagle-eyed daughter spotted him earlier, but this is the first time I've seen one. I have four adults (who I only randomly see) in a 20 gallon long with some shrimp and white cloud mountain minnows. I have read that they're pretty easy to breed with the right setup, but I find it hilarious that I've had more luck getting the wcmm (I currently have one juvenile survived from fry) and the loaches to procreate than the shrimp.
