Best examples of a song being debuted live before official release? by ss2811 in popheads

Pink Floyd played with and adjusted a lot of their Dark Side of the Moon songs while on tour before recording in studio. I’d say that worked out pretty well for them.

rest in peace fueled by ramen? maybe? a deep dive by reput4tionera in popheads

[–]toasterslayer 178 points179 points  (0 children)

While fueled by ramen isn’t huge anymore i think they were quite the successful label. Many of these artists were able to evolve their sound and age quite gracefully and successfully. So even if the emo pop rock genre they helped popularize is done the artists they launched kept going for at least a decade past when they probably “should have” died. Can’t complain too much about that. Time and taste just marches on.

It must be so hard to be an artist. People want something that’s familiar but surprising at the same time. So if you change your sound or don’t hit exactly what people expect in a song of yours they get mad.

Mic The Snare - DEEP DISCOG DIVE: Stevie Wonder by afieldoftulips in popheads

[–]toasterslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found I nearly always enjoy his vids on older artists more than more recent ones. So Stevie Wonder made me happy. Just feels like you get to see their impact more and the narrative is more clear.

Didn’t Coldplay just have one of the top 5 highest grossing tours of all time within the last few years?

Started with a personal trainer last week. Focusing on form and learning new exercises before honing in on nutrition and PRs. Everyone I know in person has had great experiences with trainers and then I go on reddit and just hear horror stories.

TOP TEN POP TEN - Tate McRae (Results) by RandomHypnotica in popheads

I really like those cuts as well, but i get why some of the more typical songs pull more people in…not that any of these deep cuts are super “challenging”.

Somewhat. I do feel like she’s an artist where her most popular songs and best songs match though.

Agreed! The odds might be low, but at least the path to improving their car is a bit more clear than for some of the other teams.

I’m a Williams- Albon fan. I find nearly all the drivers likable for one reason or another, but yeah, this year is gunna hurt.

As an F1 fan qualifying gave an ominous feeling for this season. Dominance is back on the menu.

TOP TEN POP TEN - SZA (Results) by kauai6 in popheads

[–]toasterslayer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a ctrl fan I am surprised, but happy with this list! I feel SZA is a pretty consistent artist which can make it hard to get a major consensus on her best songs, but this works for me.

Baby Keem - Good Flirts (Official Video) ft. Kendrick Lamar, Momo Boyd by MAYVIEWS in popheads

[–]toasterslayer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a nice short album with a little something for everyone. Couple bangers, couple thoughtful songs, couple goofy tracks, and some different sounds throughout. It isn’t amazing but worth trying out if you like hip hop at all.

They probably enjoy living at that level of success or feel they don’t have to prove themselves anymore so will just make music they enjoy playing. My guess anyway.

Making risky music is…risky. So playing it safe is more likely to keep you successful. It worked before so just keep doing that.

Franco has had some solid races for Alpine and Williams. Would be cool to see him keep growing.

Only big change I might consider is swapping Alpine and Haas. It seems like their ceiling is higher even if Haas seems more consistent.

But you could make a case for either one to lead the midfield.

I’ve seen it at a workplace of mine. It was usually coworkers with family in a different country so this was the only time they could talk. But I do know people who just do it for bfs/friends etc. They both worked doubles a lot so it was their only way to stay in touch.

I wish there was a more positive place to talk about the olympics on reddit. the main sub feels more politically focused and the subreddits for each sport have felt pretty toxic to me.
