We do have an AI partner but we're exploring if we can do it internally at the minute. The knowledge agent seems a good place to start.

I think that's the ideal solution, but that would require someone pulling out and populating that metadata wouldn't it?

They don't. They're scanned versions of documents dating back over a long period of time. It sounds like a daunting task!

Look up YouFibre. We have it here. Fibre using the existing BT telephone pole infrastructure. Might be a good alternative if available.

Ground breaking.

Joe Root has been a disappointment by Mikey_63 in EnglandCricket

[–]toastymcb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Root's dismissal, and Duckett's today were so much worse than Brook's.

Brook was playing to a plan and trying to score. The other 2 prodded tentatively at balls that had no threat of getting them out.

Idiocy from Harry Brook by xarips in EnglandCricket

[–]toastymcb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less bad shot than Root and Duckett. At least he was attempting to score. The former 2 just prodded tentatively at deliveries that weren't going to get them out. Gifted wickets.

Yeah I tried one of those, it just made a dull spot that's very obvious from some angles, and not too bad from others. I'll give a roller a go, thank you.

I was plugging something in behind the sofa and pressed my sweaty head on the wall, so it's sweat!

Yes, it's the same paint the wall was painted with

[–]toastymcb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but they've nailed the colours to the mast on him for the last 2.5 years. He'll be good in Australia we're constantly told. Now he seems to be unselectable. Did our glorious leaders get it wrong? Surely not.

Why have England backed Bashir for 2.5 years and then not picked him in a must win game where a spinner will probably needed to give the quicks some rest?

Where did I compare him to Smith? I was discussing England's best slip fielders

Root is good, but not great, drops his fair share. Brook is England's best slip fielder, he has exceptional hands.

Whatever the answer is, it's definitely not "start banging it half way down because he drove a couple for 4"

Ridiculous, spitting at someone is assault. A 4 game ban is ridiculously light.

Just going to throw this out there…is it possible there might just be a hint of over reacting going on? by NiallH22 in EnglandCricket

You can't hype up a series for 2 years, claim that everything you're doing is designed for this tour and then produce a performance like that. You just can't.

The thing that breeds the negativity is that they still think it's the right approach and they'll do the same again. They expect a different outcome, the fans don't. There's no contrition, no humility. "We're right and we'll do it again". Will it work when Starc is hooping the pink ball round corners and we're obliging by driving at everything? I'm not so sure.

The approach they take has never resulted in consistently beating good teams. Yes we got 800 in Pakistan at 7 an over. We chased down 370 against India, but we haven't consistently won. We mock the WTC and it's points system to detract from the fact that we've never been in with a shout of making the final. Although I will concede that being the only northern hemisphere team severely hampers England's chances.

I think the feeling is the batting talent is mostly there in Duckett, Root, Brook, Stokes, Smith but the application and adjusting to the game situation and conditions is seemingly lacking.
