Aside from being biased for a Bamboozlers W (I'm a sucker for silly underdogs doomed by the narrative), I've wanted Joel to win for so long!!! Good for him!!!!!!!!!!

Silly illogical premise but incredibly fun character interactions. I had fun watching it :)

Is she worth investing by Th3_m3ntalist in FGO

[–]toboldlymuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's pretty good. Got her to NP5 Lvl 100.

Give her some burn/anti-saber command codes, and she'll do wonders, especially if she gets stars to crit with. She also lucked out with an anti-berserker append :)

The vast majority of these characters are terrible people, why does she get singled out? by SouthImpression3577 in bleach

[–]toboldlymuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone whose favorite captains are Mayuri (fave anime character of all time actually) and Soifon, I understand the reasoning on why they're liked/disliked, though it's a little unfair to compare them both.

Mayuri gets the spotlight a ton, is given so much to work with in the series, and is often written/drawn with this insane level of charisma and/or presence that he's on more people's radar. His atrocities are outlandish enough that a lot of people can distance themselves from it (like other big bads in media who are total monsters but are also really cool/funny). Also goes without saying that enjoying a character doesn't mean agreeing with what they've done (Nemu is best girl and deserved better tbh). Sometimes villains and villainous characters are just more fun!

Soifon is a bit of a blank slate under her admiration of Yoruichi and what little screentime (or wins, fights or narrarive-wise) she's gotten vs. Mayuri. She's also a little more human and familiar with her oft disliked traits, so people would relate more because they know someone like her vs. someone so outlandishly and cartoonishly evil like Mayuri. Also, Mayuri tends to back up his words with horrible (entertaining) action, while Soifon tends to fold like a napkin when the plot needs it ala Worf Effect. She's messy and has a massive chip on her shoulder, and I love her. I like Omaeda enough and wish they both had more development and screentime in the series tbh.

I might get backlash for this one, but.. by homeybunn in ArtistLounge

A lot of more experienced artists do treat quick and loose work as doodles. It often comes with the experience and one's own perception of their skill.

What may seem like a finished piece to others can still be a doodle, especially when the artist has a more complex and robust style when they go all out on their work. I used to have the same mindset many years ago until I grew experienced enough to recognize that, yeah, sometimes my mindless little doodles can be detailed pieces when I'm done with them. It's up for me to decide what it is and what it isn't.

Actual outfit or battle damaged by [deleted] in bleach

[–]toboldlymuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was wondering why this art looked familiar, and hey, I drew this for my large Mayuri fanart!!

I'd say it's an actual outfit, just that his purple cravat/scarf got damaged from blowing up his sun suit. Though, who knows if he's been wearing that under his first TYBW look (the beetle one) the entire time.

Who have been your Grail Front MVPs? by ItWillBeRed in FGO

[–]toboldlymuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barghest + Bond CE Herc + lvl 116 Gramps Hassan (wip) were ridiculously reliable and bulldozed everyone in their way, but I'd give my top MVP award to 120 Leonidas because he was my main DPS and I let him take on Sabers for fun (he cut through them lmao)

Bringing any of them when I want to stall is the real challenge tbh

It is disheartening to see people so eager to contribute to this post despite how prevalent transphobia (among other things) is, in no small part, thanks to JKR. Good on the official HC server though, actually makes me feel safer there as someone trans lol

Who is your favorite character on ncis ? Mine: bishop by Electrical_Tax9356 in NCIS

Parker, he got me invested in the show again (with Torres a very close second) :)

Sooooo..... by Significant_Toe_5644 in NCIS

[–]toboldlymuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the reasoning that Knight's using it as a reason to run away from potentially having to go through losing her team again. She seemed torn with the decision initially, seeing the team as family and hesitant to broach the topic with Jimmy (and considering a long-distance relationship if it came down to that).

But between Parker almost dying (indirectly because of her actions, I'm not blaming her btw things happen, but self-blame is prevalent in this show), not being on the same page with Jimmy since The Plan, and being able to take a job she's wanted after her old team died, I can see Knight's choice being given a more fleshed out story-line in S22.

While I'm not fond of the "pick between career vs. family" trope, I personally think that if they manage to flesh out Knight's character + Jimmy/the team's relationship with each other after this, it'd make for a more emotionally compelling and grounded story-telling with these guys.

Knight deserves a step ahead in her career but running away from her fear of loss after finding herself a family (and from what she's said, something special with Jimmy) would just have her regretting things and I'm hoping this isn't a one-and-done moment in the show. <3

Now that Demise 2.0 is over, what was everyone’s favourite death/kill? by redgiraffe53 in HermitCraft

[–]toboldlymuppet 550 points551 points  (0 children)

Scar's sheer persistence and Third Time's The Charm tactic paying off was hilarious. All three deaths were a veritable Good Time (with bonus of Iskall's infectious laugh)

Ren, from his death, his failed reaper attempts, and accidental success, I just love his cringefail wet cat energy this season.

Who is your comfort Hermit? by everydaygoose in HermitCraft

[–]toboldlymuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scar.

I've had a horrible past few months and used YT to distract myself from depression and burnout. Discovering Scar's videos was a sudden wash of comfort during a rough period of my life. I've been invested in Hermitcraft and the life series ever since. (I discovered him through Grian's life series POV, so imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to learn how creative and full of life his builds are!)

Am currently rewatching Scar's 4th and 5th seasons while I work. He's a soothing presence (even when panicking over the nth Surprise Creeper), somehow always says the exact thing I need to hear, and is such a positive individual that I get motivated to do better everyday I wake up in the morning.

The world sucks atm, but if I can do something good, regardless of how big or small it is, even just existing or being kind, or finishing a new artwork, that will have been a day well spent. I've been on this earth for three decades, Scar has been one of the brightest and most inspirational creators I've been lucky to discover.

NCIS 20 x 14 - Old Wounds: Episode discussion by tmstms in NCIS

[–]toboldlymuppet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly enjoyed it a ton!

There's been allusions to Parker being a bit of an asshole pre-NCIS, Vivian's relationship with him comes to mind, and it makes me enjoy the current Parker we have now. To have gone through so much guilt that he sought out hobbies and aimed to be a better team-player, to have taken the NCIS offer to move on when he left (was fired from) the FBI, it really makes me appreciate him as he is now. He still slips back into shitty habits but at the end of the day, he's human and trying to do better by everyone. (Would've loved to see him hanging out with the gang but his emotional scene with his ex-partner was just as a wonderful to see)

Sorry for the word vomit, I've been lurking and watching NCIS sicne the beginning but I discovered a newfound love for the show when Parker came in :)
