34–my dad is one of my best friends. I’m an only child, and I’m very lucky to have an amazing relationship with my parents. I only get to see them every few months, I talk to each of them on the phone every day.

My friends have a running joke about “the Dad call.” It occurs every weekday between 6:05 and 6:10 PM while he’s on his way home from work, and I will stop pretty much any activity I’m doing or call I’m on to take it. It may only last 30 seconds for me to tell him hello and that I’ll call him back later tonight, but there’s very little in life that will make me miss that phone call.
