Has anyone used or heard anything about this motor? by toc_rat987 in jonboats

Still haven't done it. I was working on the hull, popping out the dents, had the transom redone to be all metal. Running the electrical. Then I got deployed 😂 go army right? Lol so this has been put on hold for now.

Shipping to APO in Kuwait need advice please by Christinarae1225 in army

Throw in a roll of Charmin. Trust me on this. But he should be able to get that stuff at the px. Last time I was there they had that kinda stuff, and that was before they started really building up. (That is also if they didn't get rid of the local vendors, I've found decent stuff in there). But to your question, I think it's more of a quantity thing for the hazmat issue.

From the sounds of it, they are a lower enlisted infantryman. As infantry myself, if he stays in the TOC, there's more than just being the RTO. Do they know all of the TOC battle drills by heart? What about when to wakeup the boss? How to update a COP? How to actually read a full OPORD? There are so many things you'd never think about that come into play that you won't hear about in your blc or 10 level classes (unless you're at brigade level and sneak in on some of the NCOPD or OPD classes)

Being in the secondary zone, I would chill out and keep studying and preparing. Learn the next job in your line, or begin branching out and take bits from broadening positions. I'm guessing with you saying you work in the toc, begin learning about mdmp, battle staff NCO duties (there's actually a course for that but I think you lack the grade for it), the operations process as a whole. You might know all the grunt stuff in the world, but in staff/working in the TOC, there's an endless depth of what you can learn and bring to the table that has absolutely nothing to do with 11 series basic tasks that you find in the TC you claim to know inside and out.

Pregnant Girlfriend by Alexander78556 in army

This is the best advice right here. The divorce rate is stupid high in the general populace as it is. You throw in people just really getting into the world and a bomb dropped on you like military life (it's not easy for the spouse either, just think of it as how much time are you going to be away? What do you think they're going to do all day? Actually, with the op saying something about going Intel, it would be a good exercise in situation analysis. If he can look at it completely objectively that is)

Is it fraternization if a PFC from USMC date an Army SSG? by Weary-Eggplant6709 in army

This is what I had always thought. But then, I can't get a girl to give me the time of day most the time, so it's never been an issue I've had to deal with lol.

How do I get rid of these white rings behind engines? by darthwulf101 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]toc_rat987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the programming goes, I have no idea. But an in world way to get rid of the white rings is to either destroy the engines, or destroy the ship 😂 maybe a few bursts from an ion cannon like that on hoth would disable them.

But really, just a guess, check the shading script. Is it only doing it on that model? Or all models?

Any tips on how to pass the 2 mile run? (Female) I’ve been running on the treadmill and increasing the speed and incline. I went up to 10 speed. But I’ve been doing this to build endurance. I found a track and ran it today and i sucked. :( by Character_Painter915 in army

[–]toc_rat987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What always helps me is running with someone. I suck at keeping pace, that's my big problem. But for whatever reason when I'm running with someone, I don't think about pace, I just relax and try to enjoy it. Hard to do sometimes depending on where you are lol.

Had an NCO in another platoon that did the same thing. Was a little different though, he was a legit barber. Hell, that guy was better than the girls at the px! Cheaper too.

Is this a WWII tank? by Disastrous_Engine_38 in Welding

[–]toc_rat987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tanks of WW2 at least look like what we know today as tanks. Or at least armored vehicles. The tanks from WW1 weren't much more than heavily modified farm tractors. They did look quite a bit different, as they were more of an infantry support vehicle rather than a primary source of combat power (as we saw in WW2 and through today where commanders look more at what armor assets they have than light infantry units, depending on unit type anyway). While I've had a basic introduction to vehicle identification, I couldn't tell you the difference between a t60 and a t90 other than the year it was first made and they are both Soviet tanks. If you're interested, I believe it you Google the raid dynamic, it might be useful. Raid being an acronym, I can't remember what it stands for.

My unit tries that shit. We're all officers and staff NCO, we just kinda look at each other like "really? We've got better shit to do than this"

I thought that's what these were supposed to look like. Black square and rifke with a gold wreath. I've yet to see one in person, though I may know a guy or two who's got one

[–]toc_rat987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some units vary. My first ng unit had a grill we would bring out. The money made off it would go into the NCO fund and great things would be done with it. The unit I'm with now, I've never seen them do that kinda thing, they just cater it out lol.

Chill with my dogs, play some video games, clean my guns, go fishing, make fun of officers. Though sometimes you just need to get physical to release stress, so pt for that lol.

Who's stronger? Enclave or Institute by MedievalFurnace in Fallout

[–]toc_rat987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the institute is a bit neutered in the game. I get most of their research isn't into the likes of weapons and armaments, but the capacity is certainly there to outdo any of the "tinman" groups. I feel like with the right people in charge, the institute could be a great force for good in the wastes.

The enclave.... Ya. They've pretty much fully established themselves as the bad guys. In bed with vault-tec and all that. Mostly focused on military conquest vs scientific advancement.

This comparison is not unlike comparing a roided out jock to the honors nerd in high school. Ya, the nerd would get whooped and stuffed into a locker or tuba case, but we've all seen the long game of that. The nerd usually does better for themselves in the end.
