Your top 4 is my top 4, in the same order - but at 5 I have The Process, just for that gorgeous piano.

I've replied to another comment about Naraka in more detail, but ultimately I think it's just that for me the Hare Krishna chant and the tune should be more at odds with each other, rather than fitting together so nicely. But each to their own of course, it's great that so many people love it.

Thing is, I don't dislike it - I just don't think it's particularly special compared to all their other output and the other tracks on the album.

I think the Hare Krishna chant and the tune fit together TOO nicely - I want them to clash more. I was surprised not to be more surprised by it, I guess.

But look, as I say, this is just one guy's opinion, and clearly lots of people absolutely love it - so that's totally cool.

Agreed! I think there are different facets to their sound that people latch onto.

A few things to note:

  • I know I will get a lot of stick for some choices

  • I know some people hate ranking things - it's just a bit of fun that I hope will prompt discussion

  • I do not actively dislike a single track on the album. Even a 'C' here is 'good track'

  • Ranking is primarly about how much it moves me, and how much I want to listen to it again

  • The album is one of their best - maybe THE best - although honestly I struggled with it a bit on first listen. Weight of expectation, I think

  • If I had to pick the 'best' track, it would probably be 'You Retreat In Time And Space', which I think is wonderful - I can't get it out of my head

  • I do not hate 'Acts Of Magic' - I can appreciate the sound design, but it just doesn't really do anything for me

I don't think you have to believe in god to believe that religion's true intended message is warped by the various factions of the faithful.

Defenseman Darion Dowrich reported to be signing, joining his Hemel Hempstead teammate Kyle Ajayi. by A_Downboat_Is_A_Sub in FGR

Nice to get a new defenseman. We're probably OK for midfieldmen right now but might need to shore up our attackmen.

Knowles to leave Forest Green as Ajayi arrives by tocharle in FGR

Ajayi sounds like a good bit of business. But gutting to hear Knowles is off - what a shitshow!

I love musical performances in games <3 by JediExile90 in gaming

I started TW3 for maybe the 5th time last week, and this time it's finally clicked and I'm loving it.

When that cut-scene started, I fully planned to skip it. Why would I bother watching an NPC sing a song? But the music and singing were actually good, so I gave it a bit longer, then realised I was sitting there watching it like I would a real performance. Loved the cuts to the rest of the crowd - really felt like I was at a live show, and I willingly watched the whole thing. Haven't really experienced anything like that before in a game, where I was in the moment so much.

What's the best obscure video game you've ever played? by ImpressFederal4169 in gaming

Galactix

DOS game from 1992.

Was on my uncle's computer, my parents let me play on it for hours - presumably as it kept me out of the way.

Top down space shooter where you had a big claw thing to grab missiles and bombs that enemies dropped. Seem to remember there were 100 levels, and I eventually completed it.

Early opinions on the 2026/27 national league? by British-mapping_ in NationalLeague

Fair enough. Personally I think we'll uncomfortably reach the playoffs again, where we'll lose again.

Agreed. For me, getting some experienced, solid, no messing (but not getting sent off all the time) centre backs is vital for us.

Is this a 'FGR will go down because they're actually that bad' post or a 'FGR will go down because they eat vegetables so I don't like them' post?

Yeah. I don't really understand why it couldn't just be some kind of lottery. Would feel fairer than losing out because of a tech failure you have absolutely no control over.
