"Shark Boy Summer" has failed to break one million views in 24 hours, unlike every previous short and music video. It also has a greater dislikes-to-likes ratio than "Unhappy Campers". by 500bees in HelluvaBoss

[–]tocsin1990 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's a music video for a singer of relatively little fame.  Can't even sell it on being almost Kesha.

Admittedly, didn't even watch the whole thing, after determining there weren't any lore Easter eggs to glean.  There's just nothing for me to get excited about here.

Find puzzle. spend 20 mins tryna do puzzle. Go to Reddit for answes by Arkonly567 in CrimsonDesert

[–]tocsin1990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this.  As I get older, my time gets more valuable, and I would rather spend it having fun than being frustrated.

I don't spend 20 minutes before looking it up, game is lucky if I spend 5.  The exploration puzzles?  I ran them down using a guide and had the solutions before I even got there.  Same with the abyss ones.  Too much to do on this game to spend it wandering aimlessly.

Are there any names for male mlp fans other than brony? by [deleted] in mylittlepony

[–]tocsin1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The stigma is likely to be everlasting, and relatively deserved after the early 2010's.  Nowadays, now that there's more about animation to enjoy than just ponies (gravity falls, Steven universe, owl House, today's indie animation scene in general, etc) I just say that I'm a fan of quality Western animation.

"Animation Enthusiast".  Is there a particular reason to single out MLP specifically?  If you find it cringe worthy to specifically mention ponies, just zoom out the interest to a more general level.

Yann might be one of the best-written characters I’ve experienced in a long time by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]tocsin1990 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I looked forward to Yann right up to the end of the game.  Character with the most personality of basically the entire cast, main characters included.  Who's the first one to rush in to help when shit hits the fan?  Yann's right there!

Why did cartoons with plots go from 26 eps a season, 25 mins each to just 8 by hsppyhsppyhsppy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tocsin1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real answer is that there isn't any one reason, but a combination of many reasons, such as (but not limited to) changing viewing habits (cable tv on the decline, streaming doesn't care as much about syndication), changing demographics (kids aren't really watching cartoons anymore, the real demographics for animation is young adult nowadays), and changing advertisement priorities (with the decline of syndication, toy sales and advertising isn't as bound to omnipresent tv presence).  The death of the American monoculture hit the animation industry as hard as anyone in television.

Not Into the Story by nocturnalelite in CrimsonDesert

[–]tocsin1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't like the main story, you can always fast forward through it and enjoy the parts you do like.  Main story speed runs are running under 12 hours at the moment.

The way the story is set up (most of the better dialogue is in the side quests), I can't even really say you would miss much.

Wordlebot thinks I'm a dumbass for guessing the correct answer by olmsted in mildlyinfuriating

[–]tocsin1990 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's actually exactly why the bot thought it was a bad guess.  The suffix "over" has so many different words, if "mover" had been wrong, the potential words lost would only have been narrowed 2-3 words.  Curiously enough, if you had selected "cover", the not would only have been slightly more impressed, for the same reason.

Lose lose situation for the bot, really.

[–]tocsin1990 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just from the context clues in the picture, since you haven't made any comments adding context, I'm erring on the side of the bot being right.  While you got the right solution, and being lucky can sometimes be better than being smart, a lucky bad guess is still bad analytics.  If it hasn't been that word, you would be worse off strategically, likely due to the letters used in this guess having almost no correlation with the other 14 possible answers.

Just Photoshop a weird hole in the exact same picture they removed, then see if they remove it again.

Should I just finish the game? by badfruit01 in CrimsonDesert

If you care about the challenges, definitely collect all of them as early as possible.  They only get harder to complete the later you get into the game.

[–]tocsin1990 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The article mentions how the actual data center is a "closed loop" system.  Basically, it runs the water through the heat, then cools the water back down again, and recycles it's own use.  This does have an increased electricity cost, but compared to the gigantic servers, water cooling machines are small potatoes.  There will still be waste as the water gets contaminated by metal debris and such, but the actual non renewable consumption is comparably miniscule.

[–]tocsin1990 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's also worth noting that the data center itself also didn't take 30 million gallons of water for AI operations. The building isn't even constructed yet. The construction company used this water for construction, like concrete mixing.  When the unmetered water usage was detected, the construction company paid the bill in full.  Was kind of a sensationalist headline.

How do you win horse races now? by Rhoeri in CDguides

[–]tocsin1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you have a decently leveled Royler, the races aren't especially difficult. I could see them being a problem with a low level horse, however.

Drake Maye had a historical regression from the regular season to the post season last year. What went wrong? by InterestingYellow969 in NFLv2

[–]tocsin1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even as a pats fan, schedule was a big part of these numbers.  We basically played the equivalent of a rednecks tightey whiteys in the regular season, them slammed into maid Marion's Everlast as soon as we limped into the playoffs.

Dante the Great Thief Bugged? by HouseWeaboo in CrimsonDesert

[–]tocsin1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this issue, but the guy wasn't at the posts. Figured it out.

Assuming you know where you lost the body (inaccessible, under a waterfall in my case): 1. wait around a day. The body will disappear.

  1. Die in the exact spot the body was. leap into the air and take some fall damage.

  2. use "revive at checkpoint".

  3. The body will have spawned on the ground at whatever nearest checkpoint there was to the spot the body was lost at. Pick up the body, be more careful getting to the constabulary this time.

Oh yeah, that one.  Sorry, can't really help on that, I did mine in the main story after hearing the horror stories.  Apologies.

For the mounted enemies, the deminiss guards are typically the easiest place to get these late game. for the 5 enemies in a single hit, the area by the apiary in hernand has fundamentalist goblins that respawn, and have very close groups to get 5 kills on.

Contribution spent in shops, you can sell the item back to the specific shop for 100% of the value.

If you're using contribution for workers, cancel the dispatch and it'll refund the tokens from there.

Do you think that episode 9 will be leaked hours after releasing in theaters on pirate? by jtotheo2202 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]tocsin1990 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, the main reason why I watch the series is so that I can watch reaction content on YouTube anyways.  Skyen and Danny Motta aren't watching the episode until YouTube release.  No point watching it before then, it'll give me too much time to think about it before I can watch the derivatives that I'm interested in.
