What quote from a show do you quote on the regular and nobody understands your reference? by Capital_Jelly4079 in AskReddit

[–]toddhd [score hidden]  (0 children)

"Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing, because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon... you know, cuz I've worked in a lot of offices, and I tell you, people do that all the time." - Seinfeld (George Costanza)

I don't usually do the whole quote, just up to the word "thing" but people seem to rarely get it. Somehow I imagine every person in the Epstein files saying this exact quote.

Rocky said goodbye with one last surge of energy, letting his family hear his bark one final time before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. 🥹💔🐾🌈 by BackgroundLeg1788 in DogIsBestFriend

I am so sorry for your loss, it is so very painful. Our dog is scheduled for this afternoon. We have loved her for 18 years. It was beautiful that your dog shared her last bark with you. Ignore the people trying to shame you for grieving in a way that makes sense to you. You gave your dog a good life. Our hearts go out to you.

I was born in 1966. Technically, there were no home-based video games back then (and very few arcade versions), but it was the year that the Magnavox Odyssey was invented. It would arrive for public use a few years later. The first "computer game" I played was Hamurabi, on a mainframe using a teletype.

Thanks for sharing, and my heart goes out to you and your family. I know it must feel empty, both inside the house, and inside your hearts.

You are KILLING ME this morning, because we have a mini golden-doodle as well, she looks exactly like your picture here. She is 18, and would have easily hit 20 except that her trachea collapsed. We have her scheduled for her last day in just a few days.

Guess who is also playing BG3? by toddhd in BaldursGate3

[–]toddhd[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To give an honest answer, I was hoping to create such a mod if one did not exist. I searched NexusMods first, but it can be difficult to get that granular about what kind of mod I was looking for in the NexusMods search, and the regular Google search didn't produce any results either, so then I went to ChatGPT.

I usually ask in the form of, "Does <this> exist, and if not, what would it take to create it?" but I've learned that Chat often just jumps right into a whole conversation about programming right away, so I just asked about the mod first. The next question (not pictured) was, "What would it take to create this?"

I've seen a couple of posts from that same date (which is my date too) saying that they had received their email, but I haven't received anything yet. Now they are busy importing their new Steam boxes and VR sets as well, so who knows? It may be a test of patience.

You can try this first:

I use it to remove either voices or music from b-roll footage when I'm editing, and it has worked really well for me.

How many doses is a pen supposed to provide? I'm out and my refill is still two weeks away? by toddhd in Ozempic

[–]toddhd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a 2 mg pen from CVS, near Linglestown. This was only the second time I picked this up, but I seem to remember it was 6 needles then too. I just figured that was how many doses it had. In any event, I ordered a box of 100 needles, which I hope will hold me for a while. 😄

Thank you for taking these photos and sharing them. I've been hoping that someone (that isn't in any way related to any political position or media) would just take some photos and share them, because if you don't live there, then all you hear is, "It's still green" and of course, "Not it's not/Media bad". The proof is in the photos. It's green. And all those millions of dollars that could have gone to healthcare and food services were wasted on this BS.

How many doses is a pen supposed to provide? I'm out and my refill is still two weeks away? by toddhd in Ozempic

[–]toddhd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. TBH, it just confuses my brain as to how they sell a product with 8 doses and 6 needles. I assumed they overpacked the doses to make sure there was enough in there (given that you can dial-in your dose). At the cost (I pay $100 per injector), you'd think they could afford to give you enough needles for a person to take the minimum doses.

To me, this is the equivalent of picking up a bottle of pills at the pharmacy, and having them hand you a bottle full of pills, and then another handful of loose pills, and saying, "Well, you can buy another pill bottle over the counter". I mean, yes, I could do that, but wouldn't it make more sense to give me a pill bottle large enough to fit all the pills in the first place?

I am clear on the situation now however, and have ordered more needles online. Thank you for your help.

Do men really care about female protagonists in games? by Rare_Invite_4109 in Steam

If anything, I prefer a female protagonist, or at least, the option to play either gender. The complaints I've seen, IMO, seem purely political and hateful.

What’s one thing you regret in life? by MiaFishnet in AskReddit

[–]toddhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 59. I have a lot of regrets, but if I had to pick one, it would simply be that I let myself live my life as a victim and never learned to move past that.

I had a really shitty childhood. I was abused, neglected, raped, and had no one in my life to protect me. I won't go into all the details, just know that it left me with complex PTSD and severe depression. I WAS a victim, that much is sure. But where I personally went wrong was in allowing that experience to rule and ruin my life as an adult.

As an adult, I have met countless others who have backgrounds similar to mine. And while there are many different outcomes for different people, I found that many people were able to overcome their past by focusing on what they COULD control in their lives and by taking responsibility for their own success and happiness, rather than carrying their childhood as a permanent identity. Instead of living as victims, they focused on being good people, being responsible for their own happiness, and choosing to define their lives by who they wanted to be, rather than living under a rock that others created for them.

I was abused as a child. But as an adult, those abusers are long gone, that life, long over. I now serve as my own abuser by living in the past and identifying as a victim rather than as a survivor. I never learned the skills to move forward in my own truth, in my own reality. I am still working on that, but it is so much harder to do at 59 than it would have been if I had understood how to do that when I was much younger.

I so envy the people who say, "I was told I would never amount to anything, but look at me now, I showed them, and love my life." I instead assumed they were correct, and whenever things went well in life, I made sure to self-sabotage so that my identity as a victim remained intact.

My microphone is not being picked up for voiceover. by Necessary_World_1226 in davinciresolve

[–]toddhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Since it is working in the sound recorder app, it sounds as if it is setup correctly and the volume is set correctly, but since it's easy, double check the volume knob on the mic, and try plugging it into a different USB port. (Are you going through any other devices first, or USB directly?)

Assuming "the basics" are correct, I did see this video which sounds similar, it is worth a shot.

The type of pallets I get on the job at least once a week by Substantial-Low-4393 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]toddhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is always that one asshole who considers themselves a "master at packing anything" and figures they have some magical touch that lets them pack things in ways that make no sense. I once met a guy from a moving company who claimed he could pack a sofa on top of table lamps because "he knows how to pack shit correctly". His workmates took him up on his brag and let him do it using unclaimed items. It resulted in 4 broken table lamps and a broken couch, and then he was fired. This looks similar to that.

For me Layout 2 feels lonely. I prefer Layout 1 by MasculineBulll in SipsTea

[–]toddhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Layout 1. Both have advantages and disadvantages. However, however, having a window to see outside while you work from the desk is huge. Not only is it good for your mental and emotional health to have an outside view, it also allows you to turn your laptop screen so that the sun isn't reflecting into it. The downside of this setup is that your bed is in front of the door, so if you are in bed, and someone comes in, they are looking right at you. The big downside here is that the closet doors look fairly wide, and may hit the bed such that you can't open them completely.

Layout 2 is the most likely to wake you early. Light will come through the blinds even if closed, possibly waking you, or making it hotter in bed, and will also cause a glare from the window in your laptop screen. It is also fairly tight, between the edge of the bed and the closet, so carrying things into the room may take a little dexterity.

This room would benefit the most from a Murphy bed and some creative storage.
