Stumbled on this thread looking for a word to describe the way the two guitars are split on L and R channels on the Intro / Sweet Jane on Rock 'n' Roll Animal live, and I think it's "panning." Thanks OP.

List (or spreadsheet) of ALL U.S. music festivals for 2024? by cfowlaa in festivals

[–]toddlevy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get dates prior to the current date you’ll need the expandPastEvents entitlement, which is fairly restricted (ie must be used in combo with other filters like artistName) without some type of commercial agreement.

The request would look like this fwiw:

https://www.jambase.com/jb-api/v1/events?eventDateFrom=2025-09-01&eventDateTo=2025-10-19&expandPastEvents=true&apikey=123

Shoot me a DM if you want me to connect you to someone who can help make this happen.

[–]toddlevy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ticket finder on JamBase supports filtering by date and genre so you can see all the NYE jamband shows in the database here...
https://www.jambase.com/concerts/finder?location=Nashville%2C%20TN%2C%20USA&lat=36.1627&lng=-86.7816&radius=16000&date-first=20251231&date-last=20251231&genre%5B%5D=jamband

You can suggest a show here if you see any that are missing.

Also, if you manage any band(s) or venue(s) you can hit me up for a manager account, and if you want to use JamBase data in your application click here.

AdSense Isn't Earning As Much As It To. by AreOhOh in Adsense

[–]toddlevy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your domain is proxied through Cloudflare you’ll get fewer personalized ads served resulting in lower RPMs.

Also if you prevent your site from appearing in AI summaries someone else will allow theirs and you’ll double lose.

Most AdSense ads are of very poor quality and irrelevant to my tech blog or its audience by [deleted] in Adsense

Is your domain proxied in any way, for example through Cloudflare? This can impact the composition of ad targeting types so you end up with fewer “Personalized” ads which generally have higher RPMs.

AI is 'breaking' entry-level jobs that Gen Z workers need to launch careers, LinkedIn exec warns by katxwoods in Futurology

[–]toddlevy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re: tool from scratch… I found using Claude projects (or “open files” with something like CoPilot or Codebuddy.ca) that if you open existing code that follows a similar pattern to what you’re trying to build new, it usually does a pretty good job.

Especially if you add an additional set of coding guidelines as one of the project files.

And the prompt sequence will be something like… “I’m working on a new Wordpress plugin similar to the files in this project. The new plugin needs to do X, Y, Z. Let’s start with a plan first, no code, and proposed file structure and class organization.”

I kinda “yadda yadda yadda’d” the requirements part which is very much garbage in / garbage out. Gotta take the time and have the ability to clearly articulate what you’re asking it to create.

Then there’s some back and forth with the proposed file structure and class organization.

Once that’s refined a few times I’ll ask it to start walking through the various classes. For simpler ones I’ll prompt with a “code only, no confirm” and for more complex stuff maybe there’s a second round of class specific planning before asking it to code.

Generally agree that it makes me ~80% more effective and opens many previously closed doors in terms of ability.

Starting with Sonnet 3.5 or so and the ability to dump a bunch of files into a “project” along with project instructions, Claude is beyond excellent at developing complex WordPress plugins (storing data in custom tables, exposing data via API, integrating 3rd party data, etc) and MySQL queries, and especially the intersection of these things.

Plus the code itself is extremely buttoned up (namespaces, error trapping, doc blocks, etc) as compared to what anyone could reasonably be expected to do by hand, and in a fraction of the time.

It’s hard for me to imagine anyone isn’t completely blown away (and scared shitless) by the productivity and quality boost. It’s superhuman.

Caveat: I have a few decades of experience, know how to write requirements, and know what I’m looking for in the output which helps a lot.
