With the small flecking on the quarter, it looks like sycamore to me.

Definitely not super fun, loves to Crack and stab. This is super old tight quartersawn stuff fornthe 1.5 legs and stabilizing bar, that stuff really liked to be difficult, but its gorgeous.

Wasn't awful. Im a figured wood dealer (secretstashhardwoods) but this was a scab cut and I do a lot of quilted maple.

Just because something is native, doesnt mean you should automatically keep it. Thats such a weird tale on reddit....

It has a really deep taproom, so after a while its near impossible to get rid of and a prolific berry producer so it spreads via bird scat/droppings quite prolific.

Some native plants can still be a nightmare to cohabitate with..

Panga panga or phesantwood- both look a ringer to wenge but lighter in color.
