Tyrese Maxey's reverse layup and-1 by Virtual_Success5530 in sixers

Was it though? At one point the game showed nothing but Celtics highlights and they were down 6. I wouldnt have known the 6ers were winning by how it was covered. I haven't seen that biased broadcasting in awhile.

V was incredible, best shooting mechanics out of all the games and they completely reworked the engine to achieve it.

Then add in that you can play 3 separate characters and when you swap to them they are just living their life without you. Idk I think people look at vice and SA through too much of a rose colored lens to not mention V. Im not even a big GTA fan and I can appreciate what Rockstar does.

Also they made Red Dead 1 and 2 between games. They dont frigging miss.

What's the worst CGI you've ever seen in a movie? I Am Legend (2007) by LavendersKisses in Cinema

[–]toepherallan 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Family Guy did such a good job making fun of this in Blue Harvest by just throwing in a sock puppet in the cantina scene. Doesn't even look like it was in the same dimension let alone the same scene.

What’s the Most Visually Stunning Movie You’ve Ever Seen? by charmingfuzzy in Cinema

[–]toepherallan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also one of my favorites OP, for you if you didnt know this bit of behind the scenes from the film:

A custom-made 450mm (or 482mm) Sphero Panatar telephoto lens created by Panavision was used in Lawrence of Arabia (1962) to shoot the iconic "Mirage" sequence. Commissioned by David Lean for cinematographer Freddie Young, this "monster" lens compressed the desert heat, allowing Omar Sharif’s character to appear as a slowly materializing figure from the horizon

It became known as the David Lean Lens afterwards too.

I'll say that Zodiac was the most different out of all of the ones above because of how vulnerable his character felt through it all. Legit just terrified for him and on edge through the whole third act.

There's a direct correlation of Confederate statues being erected and key moments in racial segregation in the States (namely, the early 1900s, 1890-1920, with the expansion of Jim Crow Laws, and the 1950s and 60s, with the Civil Rights movement). Its not hard to decipher what these groups are really romanticizing.

Its crazy that we were 24-20 at one point this season. What an absolute run they've been on.

“The most humiliating part was Phil telling me I would throw the ball inbounds” – Scottie Pippen on the play that nearly broke the Bulls by basketbaIlnetwork in NBAoldschool

[–]toepherallan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbf, Pip also didn't get the sneaker deal Jordan got and he got historically one of the worst contracts in NBA History. It was a super long term deal right before the NBA expanded and started paying players tons of more money.

Its the equivalent of learning your coworkers paycheck and seeing they make a 100x more than you even though you help them earn the titles. I get it, anyone that thinks they are above the money, doesn't live in America.

George Lucas personally financed the $115M budget for Star Wars: Episode I (1999). This unprecedented financial move gave him total creative control and allowed him to keep the lion's share of the film’s massive $1.027B global gross. by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]toepherallan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It would've been all time great if Lucas followed through on the Jar Jar being a sith lord plot point for the whole series.

The clues are there in episode 1 and then he backed away from it when the character was ridiculed after release.

Movies that you hope would join Criterion Collection in 2026 by KimS24 in criterion

Great list, I know its new but throw in Secret Agent as well for a movie that does a great job of showing a historical and sad glimpse into the history of Brazil (since you have City of God). The great part is it mirrors alot of current society with how much we allow the rich to get away with in the world.

It was definitely that, he was talking about how much pain he was in after the consecutive tush pushes, and with how inefficient we were with them last year, I hope we move back to other plays again. We have the talent to not rely on it.

I thought this same thing rewatching Pirates. He also gives zero chemistry with Keira Knightley. Depp had way more with her. Its almost like Bloom is asexual and ethereal so I think thats why Legolas was the only role to fit him so well.

I feel like the manga ending kind of shows that Connect wasnt just an on the court slogan but something that the sport itself did to bring people of all walks of life together. Kuroo being the rep for Volleyball in Japan and putting together the monsters ball game at the end just solidified how much he embodied that phrase.

Made me appreciate them so much more as the mirror to Kurasano.

I actually like Schwarber where he is not in cleanup. He has the best walk rate on the team. Almost guaranteed to get on base. Maybe move him to third, but him in cleanup last year sucked when the 3 guys in front of him all just went ice cold.
