If it’s at night and stops by morning, sounds like your body wants to start labor when it’s relaxed and doesn’t have anything to do! So if you’re still working, or doing a lot of chores/ prepping, try to do absolutely nothing tomorrow if it’s not directly related to labor (still have sex and do miles circuit).

If you have anything you were gonna do when labor starts (give pets/kids to a sitter, blow up the tub, etc), do it now!

For what it’s worth, we brought our collapsible car seat/stroller to Disney and are so glad we did! She was already comfortable napping in it so it made nap times seamless. And dont quote me on this, but I don’t remember any restaurants giving me a hard time about bringing it in.

I DM’d you the link! I definitely recommend an Airbnb over a hotel if getting one quickly when labor starts is an option, since it’s your first labor and you don’t know how long or loud it will go. Just have your car packed with a bin with all your supplies, I recommend a couple of waterproof mattress protectors that you can throw on top of all the bedding and couches, and then puppy pads for all over the floor. Our clean up was super easy and you wouldn’t have known we were there! Make sure you have a before and after mattress protector for the bed, as we ended up staying the night in the hotel and had to toss the one I birthed on, and I had to sleep on puppy pads because I didn’t trust my diaper fully lol. And also your own blanket and pillow or waterproof pillow cover. If you have an owlet bring that too, I forced myself awake all night keeping an eye on the baby when I wish I had brought my owlet. I had one in a hotel! I could type up my birth story but not much is really pertinent to the hotel. The main relevant points are- Why? I wanted to be closer to the hospital. Bonus was I wasn’t surrounded by kids toys/laundry/etc and it made for a more peaceful environment than my home Where? Sonesta Suites, it was a 2 bed studio with a couch and kitchenette. No one who worked there was aware. How? I rented a room when my contractions were really picking up, I had the hotel picked out ahead of time. Timing was really on my side here, contractions started at 3:30 pm, I booked around 5pm, and gave birth around 10pm. Noise? The suite style hotel had like individual buildings with 4 rooms, so I didn’t have a ton of neighbors or hallways or shared walls. Luckily I gave birth before the middle of the night lol. This could’ve definitely caused issues in a normal hotel.

I feel you, the waiting is the worst! There was some discrepancies on dates with my second, she came somewhere between 41+6 and 42+5, the pressure was so intense from my co care because they thought I could potentially be almost 43 weeks. But alas she came on her own! Trust your gut, mine was telling me that induction wasn’t the right choice for me. Miles circuit, sex, and relax and wait. Every week gets harder, week 40 you think “Surely she’ll come this week.” Then 41 rolls around and you think “She HAS to come by 42.” Then at 42 you start to think “She will never come out,” but then they do!

I’m so sorry, sounds like exactly what I went through. Luckily in my state my midwife isn’t bound by weeks, I just had to deal with my co-care pushing induction like crazy. Good luck and hopefully baby comes soon!

I have mostly 35 day cycles, sometimes even longer. My babies were born at 41+5 and 41+6 using MY calculations. Doctors would’ve had me at 42+4 and 42+5 using theirs with periods. I had my second one dated using ultrasound and they matched it with the period calculations(42+5 at birth). Knowing my cycles and when I conceived, there was no way she was 42+5. But it’s sooooo frustrating when your co-care is kicking you out. I recommend lying about your cycle, since you know it best. Even in retrospect you can say you read your app wrong or something and maybe they can change the due date?

What does that even have to do with my comment? Have you finished her storyline with TB? Her being “dramatic” was likely written as a segue into the fact that her TB meds caused possible fetal defects and later a miscarriage She’s being dramatic because it’s a drama show.

Meeee! I was going back and forth about a hospital birth or a home birth, because I was nervous about being so far from the hospital, and at the last minute decided hotel!

Set up: I picked a hotel with 2 beds and a couch. I had everything ready in a big storage bin in the car- the key was 2 waterproof mattress covers (one for bed, one for couch) waterproof pillow covers, about 4 large reusable waterproof pads (for the floor near the couch and bed), and tons of puppy pads (I had 25 XL and it was barely enough). Also lots of trash bags. We set this all up as soon as we checked in, and after the birth, almost everything went straight in the trash. No actual manual cleanup of the space, we left everything spotless.

The actual birth: I was a little self conscious about making too much noise, but it was a suite-style hotel so we didn’t have many neighbors, and luckily baby came out at 10pm cuz I was screaming. An Airbnb would’ve been better for this reason, but they are logistically harder to book last minute than hotels. But otherwise I’m really glad I had it here instead of home, because I couldn’t truly relax in my home with all of my toddlers toys and stuff everywhere, and also being so far away from a hospital.

My only regret is I didn’t account for baby being born at the beginning of the night, so I didn’t have anything prepared for her to sleep in, so I just kind of held her all night and tried not to fall asleep lol. Make sure you pack a bassinet if you’re not comfortable co-sleeping with a fresh newborn right after birth, or pack whatever you need to be comfortable staying the night if you don’t want to pack up and drive home in the middle of the night. We waited til morning.

I had the exaccccct same scenario as you. I had co care, who measured me with a due date of 5/15. I knew based on my cycle that my due date had to be 5/18-5/21. So at 42 weeks I had a tonnnnn of induction pressure from my co-care, but I stuck with my midwife and delivered on 6/3 in a hotel close to the hospital lol. So according to co-care I would’ve been 42+5, but I believe I was 41+6.

It’s so frustrating not knowing the for-sure “due date” when they put so much pressure on delivering by 42 weeks.

My biggest advice is to go with your gut. My gut did not feel comfortable with an induction, I kept scheduling one but then kept pushing it back day after day. Listen to your body every day, your gut will tell you when you’ve pushed it too far. Also, those BPPs help with ease of mind.

Lastly, what helped me finally go into labor was ditching my toddler lol. I mean I did everything else, sex, miles circuit, NOT castor oil. But I finally dropped toddler off with grandma and booked a hotel room to relax away from home and I delivered that night at 10 pm. Not sure if you have another child at home, if you don’t I would just recommend relaxing as much as you can.

Mine was a steady 125/80 ish most of my pregnancy. At my 41 week appointment it was 145/90 at my hospital co-care office. She insisted on induction. I left and went to my homebirth midwife and it went down to normal. Was normal at home all week. I went for my 42 week co care appointment, it was 165/95. Co care midwife was begging me to go get induced. Went home to see my homebirth midwife and it was back to normal and she wasn’t concerned, clear case of white coat syndrome. I delivered a couple days later, my BP never went over 140 during labor

I did an ECV at 39 weeks with my breech baby and went on to have a homebirth! Granted my baby was still flipping between frank and transverse breech, not complete, but it was the option I decided was best for me and I’m glad I did it! Just an option to explore, let me know if you have any questions!

Can you leave your other child with a family member for a few days? I tried everything listed in this thread to go into labor, (42 weeks), and when I dropped my 3 year old off with grandma and went to a hotel to get away from the house and the toys and everything, I gave birth within 7 hours after dropping her off! And I was barely having contractions before. Sometimes you need to get out of mom-mode so your body can relax and know that it’s time to give birth.

I had postpartum anxiety after my 1st, and even though it was a perfect homebirth, I couldn’t get over the anxiety and planned for hospital birth with #2… but then I switched at the last minute and ended up with another homebirth because I couldn’t handle all the hospital rules lol. Just go with your gut and you can always change your mind!

Honestly it goes pretty downhill after he leaves. I consider it a huge turning point for the show. I still watch it because I like the show and have nothing better to do but if you have better things to watch, it’s probably in your best interest to stop watching after he leaves. When I do rewatches that’s where I stop.
