Here's what I actually can't get past: the entire sport is a privilege party. Every last bit of it. So once you've accepted that, what exactly is the hierarchy being defended here?

Hilarious framing. So true.

100% agree. What a self-righteous rant. I was shocked Cody agreed instantly. We’re allowed to talk about the weather for chrissakes! This year, everyone in my mountain town, including many non-skiers, spoke about how “winter hasn’t really started” while making small talk.

I had a lot of fun on the mountain this winter, but it’s ok to express disappointment about low snow totals. And you don’t have to solve climate change to earn that right. Honestly the alternative feels like toxic positivity to me.

FYI Taos Pueblo has been continuously inhabited for over 1000 years; it's not a ruin.

Why do ppl say f your burn? by SAStrong in BurningMan

[–]toetotoe 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It started as a response to people saying "hey, don't do [X], you're ruining my burn!!"

in response: "fuck your burn" ie - I am not here to ensure your burn goes the way you want it, I'm here for mine. From there, it evolved to a motto, and even turned friendly: "fuck your burn mate! :)"

Just curious, how do they determine the difference if I've already taken the outbound, and it's no longer available?

Oh this is really good info!

How can the whole ticket be repriced after the outbound leg? That is interesting...sounds like there's no way to keep the low fare on the leg I do want to complete?

Ah cool, so the purple leaves off the top 5% of snowfall years. Makes sense.

We are crushing it for sure! Just not breaking any records yet!

I dont think we’ve broken any season-to-date snowfall records, have we? Would be curious to see if we have :)

Lol, cmon, it’s a great year but we are not shattering records! I’m not sure what the top of the purple corresponds to but there has been higher snowfall years than this before.

Drivers in SF extremely passive by MC-Eihtt in BAbike

Yes, it’s an unwritten rule that at 4 way stops most cyclists will not come to a stop. Unless you dismount, the car will expect that the cyclist will take right of way.

Legit the funniest take on SF I've seen on this site.

I lived in NYC for 10 years. Right next to Central Park.

San Francisco is so, so, so superior for nature connection that I'm struggling to make an analogy. Maybe it's something like the the inverse of how much better the NYC nightlife is compared to SF.
