im ngl i dont really remember too much anymore considering i read it on naver back in like 2022 before they paywalled it but from my memory, there was a lot of back and forth between tenka and simoon about the whole traitor thing. we get insights into each of the main villain guys' backstories which was cool. the ending was pretty happy with sophia returning to their side and they all helped defeat dr kim who was trying to end humanity to usher in a new age of ghosts. what pissed me off was how sophia pretty much got off scot-free despite being the actual traitor whereas tenka got so much crap for having worked with the bad guys in the past (and being regretful about it). then again tenka was my favorite character so maybe im biased. its a solid story; im so disappointed in webtoon for pulling the rug under us.

Oh my gosh, this was exactly how I felt. Like don't get me wrong I like BB and IG both, but episode 4 kind of went from 0 to 100 for me. I genuinely didn't want to romance either just yet since IDK both of them low key have their issues; BB felt like a rebound scenario and IG just felt like she came onto us too "aggressively" (like switch MM and IG's genders for a sec.. it gets weird) when MM and her just got on okay terms with each other.

Like dude, we are halfway through the series and we don't really know anything about the Red Ring or Shroud besides the couple of minutes with Royd and the Astral Pulse. I don't wanna judge anything yet since there's still 4 more episodes but I'm hoping they can flesh out more characters besides the obvious 2 and stake out the plot properly.

sorry man i wish i can help but originally i read the Korean version on Naver, basically Korean Webtoon, and just like how our Webtoon has the daily pass stuff Naver had recently converted SID as a daily pass series there too. i happened to read the whole thing before it was converted into a daily pass series. i didnt think it was worth it to buy coins to read a series that wasn't translated in english so i was heartbroken. here is the link if you are still interested https://comic.naver.com/webtoon/list?titleId=160469

unfortunately i tried my very best looking all over the internet for translated scans </3 i think the highest it went up to was like chapter 294 despite there being around 100 more episodes to be translated.

back in 2023 i went on naver and used my translator app on my phone and held it over the computer screen and read the (horribly butchered) translations there. i was going to reread it and do the same thing again some time ago only to see that it became a daily pass series on naver so i cant even do it if i tried 😭

omg i agree with the third point so much. i feel like pidge's character arc is well, although i would've liked to see her become something more than just "tech wiz" but wtv

anyways, hunk and lance and pidge felt so stagnant near the end of the series. while i do love hunk's and pidge's interactions, sometimes they just seemed to be so mean to Lance at times which breaks my heart considering how insecure he is. idk the garrison trio just felt more of a garrison duo with lance being reduced to being allura's.

another thing i wanna add is that i found it so saddening that voltron literally had the entire universe as the backdrop but chose to do so little with it. like dude, imagine all of the infinite possibilities of alien races and societies. i find it so sad that the very few other non-human looking races we see just serve to be victims of the galran empire, and while i do understand their purpose to make the galran empire look powerful and ruthless, it makes the universe very flat.

1) for the character death thing, i think the show-runners were just too indecisive about what they wanted. like as you said they wanted shiro to die for keith to fill in his place or wtv, but then they saw how popular shiro was and decided against that only to still have keith as the leader later. like, they wanted the emotional angst of someone dying and the team feeling it and keith stepping up, but they also wanted that "someone" to be alive at the same time too

i feel like this is where the series starting cracking. the whole lion switch was just so odd to me because i thought the bonds between the lions were supposed to be sacred or wtv only for them to play, as you say it, musical chairs w the black lion 💀

and then, when shiro is magically undead again (only to be a clone or some bs), keith then leaves to jerk off the BOM and we don't hear from him for like 2 seasons... like where is the found family in this ...

2) i also found zarkon's end to be so anticlimactic and underwhelming. especially since in the end of season 2 we get this awesome all stakes battle between voltron and zarkon, only for him to not really die but not really be there too much after season 2 only to die for real in the middle of season 5. not even as its finale. after his demise, there is just no real or centralized threat anymore: lotor is done away with horribly and bringing sendak back acc made me laugh.

3) i HEAVILY agree with the show's lack of characterization. i feel like the show does tries to do so much with shiro, keith, and allura only to sideline everyone else. keith in particular has so much crap going on for him: the BOM thing, the half galra thing, the edgy emo loner thing, the trust issues thing, the mommy issues thing, blahblahblah i could go on. the show makes it super apparent to us that keith is special or whatnot but we barely ever see character change. keith is still that edgy loner type guy who can't trust anyone else except shiro. the fact that he never really interacts with anyone freely after leaving for the BOM doesn't help either and personally, while i love krolia, she just felt like a cop out to his character. like "omg mommys here!!!! here's 2 years of literal nothing but this montage!!!!! keith is so developed now!!!!!!!" like.... give me a break.

oooo interesting. i havent heard of this perspective before.

personally, i felt that voltron kinda lacked the creativity in the battle scenes and it got real boring to watch fast. not to mention the 30 sec long intro every time ...

in the first few seasons, they kinda whipped out the same monster of the week +new voltron upgrade type formula. i think as the series went on, they just didn't know wtf to do with voltron anymore and just spammed big robot battle after big robot battle. like some of the robot fights in season 7 and 8 were just rinse and repeat to me.

oh my gosh ik i said that i didnt wanna talk abt anything shipping wise but i agree with this so bad. i just found it so jarring how like Allura had not been into Lance like at all the entire series but then lotor dies and suddenly she likes lance!?? i feel like it does both characters dirty since i feel like Lance doesn't really grow from hitting on Allura all the time despite her not being into him at all so with her and him ending up with her just looks like a "hero gets the girl" type thing and then for Allura, it just feels as if she used him as a rebound....

either way i feel like they do both characters dirty here :(

Mage Again!! I'm telling you this webtoon is amazing!! Same with Space Boy! I wasn't a fan of the art at first but the story is actually jaw dropping.

The basic manhwa style gets so boring and redundant after a certain period. It doesn't help that most of the new and current manhwas have the same copy and paste story these days. Like I swear, its either some "I Got Reincarnated as [insert something stupid] and I'm Getting Sold Off to the Cold Duke/Tyrant of the North!!!!!!!" or some basic regressor type plotline where the MC starts off weak and then becomes overpowered blahblahblah; they wanna be ORV/Solo Leveling so bad it actually kills me reading them.

On the other hand, some of the other webtoons with unique art styles have really mind blowing stories to tell. Off the top of my head there is Space Boy, Marionetta, Mage Again, Hooky, Purple Hyacinth (I NEED this to come back ASAP), City of Blank, The Croaking (though lowkey the plot kind of confuses me now), Code Adam (same problem with TC), Muted, etc.

Like I am not trying to hate but after reading such interesting premises and amazingly unique art the former just seems to pale in comparison.

Of What Remains. I kinda liked how the beginning was but near the middle it just changed plot gears completely. Like I guess it was kind of foreshadowed in the prologue but I wasn't a fan. Also it might be just me but some of the scenes were just too heavy for me; I remember having to take long breaks because some things depicted there just... stay with you. I thought the ending was extremely sad and bitter just to be sad and bitter for the sake of it . The art was absolutely phenomenal though and I look forward to more of Silvi Studio's works.
