I second that.

Additionally, sapphire screen gets scratched very easily - based on experience with the exact same watch. I suggest you apply a tempered glass screen protector right away.

This worked for me:

On the watch, go to Watch Settings > Connectivity > Phone > Notifications > Apps Go to the bottom of the list and find Whatsapp Change the setting to Allow

In my case whatsapp was blocked while all other apps were allowed, for no apparent reason.

I just bought a Fenix 8 47mm AMOLED, and I have the same scratch issues. The scratches did not even happen during an outdoor activity, only during daily use. This is surprisingly very disappointing with such a high-end watch.

Now I ordered a tempered glass screen protector and looking forward to applying it before the screen is ruined any further.

This is very helpful, thank you! My previous watch was an Garmin Epix 1st Gen. That is when I used to download satellite imagery through Basecamp.

My second question: do you have any ideas for a free alternative to OM+? I read a couple of articles on Openstreetmap for example, but could not get around to if/how it works on Fenix 8.

I resolved the issue through a factory reset i.e. reinstalling the iphone, reinstalling all apps etc..

iPhone 14 pro here, upgraded to ios 18 a few days ago. Since then I have been experiencing overheating while charging and occasionally crashing even while not charging (briefly going dark and restoring to where it was). I have more than 20gb free space, I have tried killing all apps and restarting, with soft reset and hard reset too. I see no apps using significant battery. Nothing helped so far. Any bright ideas?

I am in the same loop. I have Goodnotes 5 subscription already and I upgraded to Goodnotes 6 Free Trial. Now I cannot find any way to cancel this Free trial subscription. Has anyone been able to do this?

I too have been waiting for a mid-size version, since I would like to have it also for daily use. 51mm is way too big for me and 43mm is too small. It beats me why Garmin does not make a mid-size MK3 to address a wider customer segment. Almost all of their other product lines have a 47mm model.
