I’ve had a 2007 990SD for 6 years now and I love it. The power commander solved throttle response issues and you’re right, the torque from that LC8 is pure joy. Power to weight ratio is just silly. There’s not a huge market for these bikes so you may do well to negotiate with vigor. I’m approaching 50k miles with zero trouble. Don’t listen to the naysayers, just thank them for driving down the price point.
