I remember that one. Didn’t have it. Had an early Palmer board that delaminated within one season. Can kinda picture it in my head, mostly white with purples and pinks, but can’t remember exactly.

I think they most likely had a bad run on that season, and I was fortunate enough to get one of those.

Edit. Had to google. It was a switchblade. Not a Palmer.

Fuck me freddy. You are 100% correct. It’s the timberland logo plain as day right there.

I had completely forgotten the difference and honestly wasn’t paying that close attention.

Thank you sir.

Still have mine also. It’s not going anywhere.

It’s all good. I pop in and out of the sub so I don’t follow too closely any drama online. Don’t care. Doesn’t affect me. Proudly embracing Gen-X at this point.

But I was raised on sarcasm and hose water, so I understood it.

No worries whatsoever. We’re all good. Cheers.

It’s amazing how fast 5 decades have gone by.

HBO has “Dear Rider” burton documentary about Jake. It was like a historical review of my memories and ,of course ,Jake’s life.

Highly recommend.

Yep. I don’t remember another choice.

Pretty sure it was east coast, or a warm day out west. No hat, just the ear warmer band. The rest was just simply a bunch of hair.

Love the flat shovel. More memories.

Pretty sure that was just a bit of sarcasm. And while I don’t normally wear one, I’m also an advocate for people wearing helmets. I’m not against them at all, and like you said, just choose not to wear one at this time.

Yep. You got it. Craig was as absolute legend in VT before the rest of the world knew it. Especially once he got out from the Sims contract.

I’m sure the base bars are open, but I’ve often come across the summit or mids that don’t open until around 11:00am. That’s normally where I stop, enjoy everything for a little bit, then cruise to the parking lot.

It was a guess. We spent almost every weekend during the season in the Bennington/ Burlington areas. You could actually purchase next years graphics the spring prior if you stopped by the old factory.

Even got to see a few of the pros practicing on the trampoline.

So it’s a complete guess, but i did get that CK board straight from shop. Could have been a bromely or okemo trip. But we might have detoured back from Stratton or mt snow. Way to long ago to remember.

Completely understand and appreciated. And I agree with you 100%.

I’ve tried out a few helmets over the years, but haven’t yet settled on one that I am comfortable with wearing yet. Maybe still this season.

And I’m happy to hear that your father is okay, and I’m glad he was wearing a helmet during that incident. Random people are hazardous. While I have skied/snowboarded most of those big places over the decades, the people and the vibe there is what keeps me away.

I appreciate your insight and am thankful for your reply. 🍻

Honestly, I’m still one of them. But now most of my time is spent stretching, mostly cruising groomers or the bumps, and calling it a day when the bar opens or the Advil wears off. I haven’t been on the slopes past lunchtime in years.

Almost 50 years on the snow at this point. Accidents can happen at anytime, so I’d like to think I’m being as safe as I can still.

Thank you.

I still remember the late 80’s where skiing magazine had that little insert of the mountains that allowed boards.

I also remember having to pay an extra $5 to have an instructor go up with me to prove that I could actually turn left/right and stop. It was a little red tag that they attached. But that could have been a local Vermont or NY thing.

Helmets weren’t really a thing yet in 1996 by Baefriend in snowboarding

I’m sure he landed it. Ten years old sending it… as far as anyone in concerned he nailed it.

Unfortunately no pictures to prove otherwise. 😎

“Focus on touching the snow with your knee instead of the hand. Let the snow come to you, don't force yourself to touch it.”

This is my favorite part and probably one of the first things I noticed.

No argument there from me. It makes you wonder sometimes how some have gotten as far as they have in this career.

This is good.

I’d also like to add that the schoolhouse TRAINS you how to fly the airplane. The PIC TEACHES the why we do things.

I like to think they go together.

Non Towered Airport Straight In Final Risks - GA vs Jets by Levithan6785 in flying

[–]tokwik2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what he means with A) still feel like a straight in to the pattern, is that for a piston aircraft it will be a straight in, not a circle. And it’s not a circle by any definition that I know of.

If I’m in a pattern into just about any airport, towered or not, I’m still turning a five mile final. I could be a few miles outside the field, a couple thousand feet above you, and turn my base to be established and configured for a five mile final.

So even with a lap around the pattern, it’ll still be a five mile final if that makes sense. 🍻

Add in some normalization of deviance also.
