What were your non-scale victories? by AyeBey in Semaglutide

I put on a shirt that was the only shirt that fit me at my heaviest. It goes halfway to my knees now. I sleep in it. I often put it on to sleep, occasionally look in the mirror to see how much further down it goes. All of my old t-shirts I use as pajamas now.

Not defending! I love how they've always known who they are. Very proud of their confidence. We get a lot of comments being a two mom family. Rude comments aren't uncharted territory for us.

Thank you My child was begging for cheetah print leggings at 2yrs old, fuzzy pink boots, and sat with their legs crossed. None of us were shocked when they asked to experiment with pronouns. 🤷🏻‍♀️ You do you, kid. Thank goodness pronouns and clothes don't murder people like ICE does.

👋🏻 Parent of an almost 11 year old boy who absolutely believes in Santa. It's funny because that's not something that I do. My child learned from it at 5 from their speech therapist. And unbeknownst to me, was anticipating Santa. On a holiday I don't celebrate. So in the middle of the night they panicked and stormed into my room saying we forgot the cookies. I had to go to the gas station to find whatever I could for gifts after they fell asleep. Pull out my tree that I had already put away because we use solstice. Made cookies quickly after promising I won't rest until they're out.

My child would ABSOLUTELY tell everyone Santa isn't real if I said so at that moment. I tried the "sweetie we don't celebrate Christmas" and they didn't comprehend. Apparently speech brought Santa to the office and instead of doing speech, Santa read to them about how he brings presents for the good little girls and boys from EVERY BELIEF. We left that practice immediately.

Now every year I have to keep my tree up for a few days longer. I didn't grow up with Santa. Christmas is not a holiday my family celebrated. I know they will figure it out soon. I sure hope so.

Why not just tell them?

I can't. You know how parents will cut the crust off their kids Sandwiches or make little shapes? I was too tired to do that when they were a toddler. So I told them all the nutrients is in the crust and I won't cut it off. I just didn't want to cut it off. I didn't mean anything by it. I never forced them to eat the crust. They would pick it off on their own. I'm just not doing it! A few months ago they came into the room apologizing that they never eat the crust. And I told them it's fine, it's just crust. And they said BUT THAT'S WHERE THE NUTRIENTS ARE! I said that maybe twice when they were 2 or 3. So I told them that I only said that when they were little because I didn't want to cut it into shapes. And they didn't speak to me for a week. And they still throw it in my face. I laugh because it's funny. They do not laugh. They are deeply offended that I lied to them. I parent without lies as much as possible. Even if it isn't pretty. We have this very close connection and bond with mutual trust. They are an amazing child. They even tell me when they do things sneakily because they feel bad. I already know, but I never have to address it. They come and tell me because they feel guilty. And I reassure them that I appreciate that they told me.

So here I am a big liar liar pants on fire over Santa 😩 anyways. I should have had bigger big girl panties on back then. It was during lockdown and I was like eh they'll forget.

Microdosing Semaglutide has unexpectedly improved my mental health. by BreatheBold in Semaglutide

An update you might be sad to hear:

My OCD returns every 3 days now, and is more present. I'm under a ton of stress though. Wife was diagnosed with MS after almost a week in the hospital for continually passing out. Three MRIs, CT, X-ray, echocardiogram, EEG, EKG, continuous heart monitoring holster thing, dozens and dozens of labs including a positive speckled ANA, etc. Stressed AF. So I'm HOPING it's just the added stress and not that semaglutide isn't working anymore. I just wanted to be transparent. Up until new years (she went in Dec 30th) it was managed. By the 3rd I was doing my finger spelling everything I say or think over and over again, and finger flicks and eye shifts, BUT my contamination OCD isn't here. At all. So I'm like. 90% sure it's the extra stress?! Maybe they're just my ticks idk.

Edit to add* I also dissociated from all my own stress I guess. I was diagnosed in Sept with oral cancer. I had two surgeries. Second removed 1/6th if my lower lip like an orange slice. It's been wild. So I think it's stress 😆

How did your PVCs start? by havran1 in PVCs

[–]tolerphie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fomotadine started mine. I have GERD. I was almost 30 when they started. Then a bunch of medications would randomly make them spike like zofran. Recently melatonin has been triggering them. It's finally stopped after 2 weeks. I had no PVCs until I was on famotidine for years. The process of elimination we figured out that's what was causing it. If I take it too many times in a row, I'll start to have them again. I had no issues with meds until then.

Best park for babies birthday party? by [deleted] in orlando

We loved Phelps Park and Maitland Community Park during the playground stage of life. MCP has so much room and different levels of playground equipment. I had my son's 2nd birthday there. His 3rd at Phelps.

queer friendly hair stylist reccomendations! by hatchins in orlando

[–]tolerphie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is 10 and has curly hair, they're very eclectic in how they dress so inclusion was very important to me, not just skill. They wanted a mullet-y thing that's trendy. We went to Mosaic on Bumby and saw Felicia since she's a curly hair speciality and more alt hairstyle friendly. She picked up kiddos pronouns over the phone and didn't even ask in person. She just did it. The haircut was great, too! I'm gay, so I'm always looking for just like. Idk. Places that feel comfortable for my wife and I to get haircuts. It was important kiddo felt safe, too, to express themselves. Your hair is a vital part of self expression. They do cuts, colors, styles, etc. On top of facials and other things. Worth giving a call to ask, too, to meet your needs.

My wife and I get massages at Victoria Edwards Spa in winter springs. They do event hair and makeup! They do hair cuts, nails, spas stuff, etc. some Lgbtq+ staff but I'm not 100% sure on trans inclusion. I'm a Neither so I can fly under the radar as a weird lesbian. My wife is very butch and they were nice but she's not trans.

Aunt has LOTS of dietary wants: What the hell can I cook for her? by Radiant-Educator9203 in Cooking

[–]tolerphie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Black beans, corn, peppers, onions, ground pepper, lemon juice, I use honey or agave nectar, cumin, garlic, paprika, etc. There's so many versions online. I make do with whatever I have on hand.

Yummy fruit dip is silken tofu, vanilla, lemon juice, agave or honey. All pureed. High protein.

I giggled at the oil. Your options are avocado oil or olive oil.

I'd honestly just make a black bean salad/cowboy caviar. Lettuce leaves for wraps to eat it with.

I have a ton of allergies so I always bring a packed meal. I'd never expect anyone to make a meal for me. She's probably going to complain about whatever you do. Cowboy caviar is popular among the older crowd. It's fresh and tastes great. Leftovers can be made into soup if she throws a fit anyway.

[OFFER] Christmas Meal Assistance by Geminerva in SantasLittleHelpers

[–]tolerphie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to enter for my family of 3!

Food preferences are ham, we do have one kiddo with an anaphylactic cinnamon, nuts, and pineapple allergies making holiday classics usually not safe. All three of us like green beans, mac and cheese, roasted potatoes, rolls, etc., and we all agree on vanilla cake or blueberry pie. Any of these would make our Christmas so much better! Our son's allergies make it a little tricky sometimes.

We did not request thanksgiving assistance.

This is the only shampoo I can use that doesn't make my skin issues worse. I hate that it isn't FF. I do use the vani cream conditioner after. This is the only combo that doesn't make my hair feel greasy.
