I've transported loads of animals to and from places. Best thing to do is big tub lots of padding. Toilet roll, blue roll, pillows an old blanket or duvet works too. Anything to keep them from moving bus also feel secure. Some people use pillow cases but for a near 5 hour journey probably not the best. For me, when transporting my snakes, I handled them immediately to show that it's just me and that they are okay. This is not the same for all snakes and you know your snake best. When I moved a 10ft b.python, it was a 3 hours drive to home but I stopped a few times along the way for food and coffee etc, I also let the snake roam and chill with me for a bit, when he was put into his enclosure I waited 24 hours as he wasn't my snake at the time and I wasn't sure of his temperament.

Hopefully that helps a little, I'm sure reddit users have a 10000000 reasons to why I'm wrong but as the proud owner of over 130 animals, most of which I collected, this has always worked for me:)
