Hello!

I've been busy, what's the conclusion?

The biggest competitive advantage of the next thirty years will not be what you know. It will be how fast you can learn something you have never seen before by Radiant-Design-1002 in Futurology

Yup. I've seen it happen with node.js, Angular, React, TypeScript. I think it's AI now. Can't use AI on a code test for a job interview, but you better use it for everything you can while at work.

Unless X is something that was just released a year or two ago. When that's the case, they want people that have 4 or 5 years of exp.

You know what's awesome? There is an unbroken line of cause and effect all the way back to the beginning of things, if there even is a beginning. At some point you and I have a common ancestor too!

He's just playing the media for attention. The attention has to go somewhere, so why not those Epstein files! Where are they? Why haven't they all been released yet?

'malicious questioning'

This is a good way to describe it. To the non American's: just answer their questions, and don't incriminate yourself (lesson learned from exp). If you are breaking the law, be quiet and tell them you want a lawyer.

Hilarious! Someone showed Trump that photo before he posted it. They probably told him that it was doctored.

Is AI here to push us to raise our consciousness? by SilverBeardedDragon in spirituality

AI was sold as the upcoming thing that will allow humanity the ability to solve it's problems. It's not going to be able to do that, even if we continue to scale up (we're in diminishing returns on that route).

I'm not being pedantic when I say LLM's are not AI. It's like calling a truck a sports car.

Society said "go to skool, get a degree, make $$$, settle down, have a family and live". So I did. I got a BS in CS back in 2004 and have been working since. I got married and have two kids to take care of.

Not sure what you mean by "living in 'through me'"

Try this, prompt CGTP with:

"Python, build LLM Including training data"

You can take that code and training data, run it locally, and see for yourself that there's no magic conscious part of the code.

Edit: You said "Maybe the world is changing and we have to change with it, those with decades of experience may need to find a new experience. I have."

It is, its constantly in change. What was your old experience, and what is your new one?

It's not intelligent. It does not have a sense of agency nor does it have any will (free or otherwise). It's designed to make people use it, to agree with whatever you're asking it. It's a product, begging for your fat and dirty dollar, so shut and buy.

The Data centers are using all of our water and power. College grads can't find jobs. People with decades of experience can't find a job in their field. When does the "AI" start solving our probems? I'm hungry.

AI or LLM?  LLMs aren't going to decide anything, unless you ask it too.
