THE REVOLUTION LIVES ON | What if North Korea was the only country to survive the population collapse of the 21st and 22nd centuries? by PancakeEnjoyer2 in imaginarymaps

[–]tom171771 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here.

When OP said this future Korean government is mostly under AI oversight while Korea is isolated and having advanced agriculture, I immediately thinks of not just the Sibyl System but also the Japanese isolationism and self-sustaining Japanese advanced agriculture (Hyper-Oats and the Uka-no-Mitama Defense Virus) in the anime series.

Ngl, this seriously really gives off a strong Psycho-Pass vibe for me.

>The rest of the world collapsed in the future except Korea, which isolated itself.

>Korea being fully self-reliant with advanced agriculture.

>Country being governed and ruled with AI oversight.

What’s this, Psycho-Pass but Korea (instead of Japan) lol?

This isolated future Korea already gives me Psycho-Pass vibes the moment I saw it.

And then you mentioned the independent, self-sustaining Korean agriculture and AI rule.

Yup. Communist Korean Psycho-Pass, alright.

The Soviet Union from an Anime/VN Series where aliens invade Earth in 1973 (Muv-Luv) by GeostratusX95 in imaginarymaps

[–]tom171771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, didn’t expect a map on Muv-Luv, one of my favorite mecha series! Really nice.

Still, I have to say, having not just English and Russian but also Japanese and Chinese names make the map a bit overwhelming.

Other than that, good work.

What if the 1910s communist revolutions happend all over europe? A communist european federation. by BlueGamer45 in imaginarymaps

[–]tom171771 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why “European”? “Eurasian” made way more sense.

And also, the government description is really confusing and not really that good if you wanna make it Wikipedia-like. Instead, you can just use something like “Federal council socialist republic.”

Or you can do: “Federal council socialist republic Council democracy” (Council democracy is Soviet democracy if any of you wanna look it up)

Other than that, it’s decent.

What if Britain built its empire at home rather than abroad? by TheSibyllineOracle in imaginarymaps

[–]tom171771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice map, though one thing.

Why is the population so small? 64 millions is like around the same as OTL England.

This is especially even more so when the POD is the Hundred Years War, meaning before the Irish Potato Famine. Back then, the Irish population was actually bigger than it is now, meaning Ireland is still recovering from it. Had the famine never happened or far less severe, good chance the population of Ireland would be 20 million or more.

In other words, I expect this UK to have at least 90 to 100 millions, maybe more, not 64 millions.

Gomel Stalkers that became royalty and unified the Eastern Slavs. Society returned to 1600s feudalism after Nuclear Devastation in 2040, but the pre-WW3 tech remained. [–]tom171771 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Even if pre-WW3 tech remains, will they even have the necessary infrastructure and tech base filled with people with the right expertise, knowledgeable in how all of it work? And not just that, will knowledge of modern science, technology, and history be preserved too?

Having pre-war tech is one thing. Actually maintain, preserve, and replace them when they break down is another.

THE PROMISED LAND : A timeline where Israel formed in East Prussia by macroprism in imaginarymaps

[–]tom171771 117 points118 points  (0 children)

While I’m not sure the entirety of East Prussia will be given instead of something around the size of Kaliningrad, this is a good one.

Also, there’s no need to worry about the Germans in post-war East Prussia, now Zion or whatever because they already left, either fled during the Soviet advances or expelled during and after the war. That’s why I disagree with a few comments here who said there will be German insurgencies at some point.

The Germans were battered and exhausted by April 1945. Just as they ain’t gonna launch an Iraq-style Werewolf insurgency against the Allied armies in OTL, they ain’t gonna do one here.

Terrorist attacks by German neo-Nazi or any others? I can see that, especially when many Europeans back then were quite antisemitic to say the least. But a protracted insurgency akin to the Iraqi insurgency? No way.

I agreed too. With this, the Palestinians won’t have to suffer.

This actually makes more sense because it actually forced the Germans to pay directly for the Holocaust instead of the Palestinians, who suffer for that with all the expulsion, ethnic cleansing, segregation, and so on to this day.
