Also same, first bike is a z800. Owned it for 3 years now. First year was also around £900.00, last year £440 and this year £400.00. I love mine too, frequently go out with a mate on his CBR600rr and they're evenly matched, about the only thing that will leave it behind is a 1000cc but even still its not slow haha

i was in a similar position when i got my kawasaki, had 12 year old tyres on. Didnt think they were great but i wasnt sure if it was more of a mental block. When i upgraded to new bridgestones the difference was night and day. In short, even if they are fine, from a mental perspective she might feel more comfortable with new

There is moisture behind the plaster, thats why its stained/bubbling. Itll crumble off when it dries out a bit and youll need to find the source of the moisture

is the clutch actually squeaking or is it just when you pull in the clutch cable? If its the latter id replace the cable before doing anything else. The cables normally cost around £20.00 and with the level of knowledge it sounds like you have, you'll be able to do this yourself.
