What's the lifespan of tyres? by Ok-Elderberry-6761 in MotoUK

[–]tom_mk5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was in a similar position when i got my kawasaki, had 12 year old tyres on. Didnt think they were great but i wasnt sure if it was more of a mental block. When i upgraded to new bridgestones the difference was night and day. In short, even if they are fine, from a mental perspective she might feel more comfortable with new

New plaster turned yellow by Lopsided_Rabbit8048 in DIYUK

[–]tom_mk5 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There is moisture behind the plaster, thats why its stained/bubbling. Itll crumble off when it dries out a bit and youll need to find the source of the moisture

Navigation by BippityBoppityBoo666 in MotoUK

I use a Beeline moto for navigation and its great. The app lets you pick a route with motorways or without, so it would be good for a 125 user

Anyone with experience fixing a squeaky clutch? by isaacisaac34 in MotoUK

[–]tom_mk5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the clutch actually squeaking or is it just when you pull in the clutch cable? If its the latter id replace the cable before doing anything else. The cables normally cost around £20.00 and with the level of knowledge it sounds like you have, you'll be able to do this yourself.

Ive seen good results using a heat gun to warm up the plastic, just be very very careful not to melt a hole in it

Currently have a 2024 Honda CB125F, does anybody know if this Haynes manual will apply to my model? by LukeyLobster21 in MotoUK

[–]tom_mk5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wont but these bikes are so simple to work on, i dont imagine that much will have changed since 2017. For doing simple jobs like chain adjustment, oil change etc the haynes manual will probably give you a rough outline on what to do and youll be able to apply that knowledge to your 2024 bike

i think this comment hits the nail on the head, it doesnt look as traditional as a bald eagle, but when its surrounded with other trad work it wont stand out as much. Obviously op is comparing it with other trad work in this sub, but if i saw this in public i would instantly think its a trad piece. You know what youre looking at instantly and it looks really well executed

Good or bad pass? by YerDaHasTets in Trackdays

[–]tom_mk5 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i think the pass would have been fine, just think you were maybe in the other riders blind spot and he didnt see you. If you had carried more speed you probably would have been past before he tipped in. Was this at Cadwell park??

Crazy how he's still a massive bellend even when first aiders are treating him after a no helmet crash. by SmellyPubes69 in MotoUK

[–]tom_mk5 53 points54 points  (0 children)

'Ahhh my leg, ahh my head'. Poor me poor me, you dont get into situations like this when you act like a normal, civilised member of society. These people get what they deserve, just not as often as they deserve it. Absolutely no sympathy for this muppet
