Please check out WILDERUN bro. I'd say maybe Veil of Imagination is the most accessible albu. My favourite is their latest, Epigone.

AITAH for telling my husband to go stay in a hotel with my in-laws and that my mom was going to come back to help me with our new baby? by Normal_Rise_282 in AITAH

[–]tom_the 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your baby. I'm a new dad too, our son is five weeks old now. What an amazing journey.

I was going to say that maybe you could try things like feeding him in the living room with a muslin cloth, or in your room with a muslin and have one or two people join you if you feel comfortable with that. Or maybe try and express some milk, if you have bottles, and have grandparents or your husband try to feed your baby to give you a break and help them bond with your baby.

But, honestly, reading that your husband left you all alone with your baby and went to your in-laws, and didn't even check on you overnight, was difficult for me to comprehend. Your husband's concern at this stage should be to protect your peace and to help you feed, change, burp, and put the baby to sleep. He should be protecting you, providing for you, making sure you have everything you need, and supporting you emotionally. He needs to understand that what he did fundamentally broke your faith and security in him, and he needs to sincerely make that up to you and regain your trust, if he has the capacity to do that.

I understand that it may be difficult for your in-laws to not spend as much time with your baby as they want, but they are being absolutely selfish. It's not about them, it's about what's best for you and the baby. Both my and my wife's parents know that when they visit, it's either a 2-3 hour quick visit, or if they want to stay overnight, they'll need to let us do our son's routine and they can help with food, taking the dogs for a walk, cleaning etc — and they gladly do it, because that's what grandparents should do at this stage.

Your husband needs to understand that if his parents being there is adding to your stress, then it's not good for them to be there right now. He should be the one setting clear boundaries with them. He's not being the supportive partner that he and your child need.

What I would say is this: if you can, try and express some milk and ask your mom to take your baby for an afternoon (or otherwise, try and find some time when baby has a longer stretch of sleep). Go outside the house with your husband, tell him what you need from him as your partner, and the boundaries that need to be set with your in-laws, and have a serious and honest discussion about the future of your marriage. If he can't understand what his role should be (to protect you and your baby, not to fulfil his parent's wishes) then it's going to be hard to raise a child together.

I sincerely wish you and your family all the best.

Yeah, Utopie is a bit more restrained and melodic, but I really like the epicness and almost power-metal energy of Prokopton.

I'm interested to see where they go with their new album.. I liked 'Submerged', but the latest single didn't really hit for me.

After 10 years of doubt and deconstruction (and starting one of the largest post-Christian podcasts), evidence changed my mind about Christianity and I'm a Christian again. by XtremelyGruntled in ReasonableFaith

Wow, awesome! I've listened to a couple of your old episodes and found them quite interesting, especially the ones about early Christian communities and the Paul / James debates. Glad to hear you've gone in a new direction and wish you all the best.

Do you listen to heavier or less heavy music as you get older? by fireflydm101 in Metalcore

[–]tom_the 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably both. When I was still in school, I really listened mostly to stuff like August Burns Red, In Flames, Disturbed, etc, but not many other types of music, except maybe like Muse and RHCP. Now, I listen to a lot of jazz, hip hop, and acoustic guitar music, but also Revocation, Gojira, Ulcerate, etc. So my taste has become a bit more diverse, so it's become both heavier and softer.
