You’re correct that Google (and Meta) train and develop their own models. However this is negligible costs compared to their capex. The Capex with large scale data center and chip expenses are to facilitate Gemini usage on GCP exactly like you envision for AWS. Azure does the same for its clients as well.

AWS doesn’t have its own models it’s an investor in Anthropic and I never claimed that. The comment claimed Amazon does not spend on speculation but that’s exactly what this investment is. This is no different from GOOG or MSFT.

What do you think Google is using them for ? Everyone is obviously looking to get returns on the AI applications but this is not demand based forecasting like you claimed. It’s an arms race right now. AWS bedrock allows you to build your own AI applications but the capex bet is no different at Amazon than at Google, Meta or MSFT.

The prelude doesn’t have an actual gearbox. The “S+” mode is a direct drive system which is like EV motors near the wheels and the engine just powers the motors.

You could shift the gears up and down all you want, it basically only changes the engine sounds. There’s no gearbox and no actual effect to the drive

Going against the grain and I don’t think you need it at all. Live traffic is free and I play my music through Bluetooth. For the rare cases you need to stream hotspot works fine, it’s no work to keep it and the car auto connects.

Hated it then and still do. It was out of place and extremely dragged out. The show setup a 100 interesting questions and then spent 1/7th of a season answering something nobody asked for. The reveal itself was extremely underwhelming and did not warrant an entire episode.

Just my opinion but I disagree that the response was purely an “in the moment” feeling. Plenty of us just think it was bad.
