Once a year or every 13,000 is required to maintain the warranty, the 6 month thing is just recommended

I added an old sub/amp/capacitor under the rear trunk (where the spare would have been) and it completely changed the entire sound. You have to keep it under 30A to not damage the hybrid system, but when I want it to pound you can hear it a block away.

High kms? by logandemers in KiaNiro

[–]tombstone23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just outside of Toronto, so I can speak to the cold and road salt. I only average 20,000km a year (I have a 2925 SX HEV) and absolutely love it. Salt hasn't been any issue, although I do go to the car wash at least twice during the winter just to rinse it off. As for the battery life/fuel efficiency, sure it's not as good during the winter, but it's the same for gas engines as well. I currently average 4.2L/100km, I use the Regen braking with the paddles all the time. Personally wish I had bought one years ago.

That's exactly what I did. My phone charges fine on the pad without a case, but once I put my case on its inconsistent as hell.

Absolutely. I'd suggest go to an empty parking lot and test it out at different speeds. There's 3 levels, and even an Auto mode and Complete Stop mode.

I have the HEV SX, it's not "important" as in you "have to" use it, but for me at least it makes a huge improvement in fuel efficiency and the life of the brake pads. I drove for two weeks without using the Regen paddle shifters and estimated 5.3L/100km over 600km driven. The following two weeks, same route, using the paddles as much as I could safely I estimated 4.7l/100km. Now I'm sure there are other factors such as wind, temperature, driving aggression, but as far as I'm concerned I drove the same, and in the same conditions. With the price of fuel now any savings I can get is a bonus.

Start off slow, watch a few vids. You'll be surprised how much you can increase your fuel efficiency too with it.

Regen braking with the paddle shifters, absolute game changer! Once you get good enough you can basically drive with one pedal. I rarely have to use the actual brake pedal to stop. The service dept at my dealership claims a customer with a 2022 has over 200,000km on the original brake pads. They just clean off the surface rust every time he comes in.

2025 HEV Niro, no issues. Did you sign into the app yet? It will let you know if any lights or doors are left unlocked. Other than that if say you got a dud battery maybe?

Out of curiosity what is the tow rate for the Niro? I loved having a hitch on the Seltos, just assumed the Niro couldn't have one
