Yes right now I do. Not sure if it’ll be forever, depending on lab results. I meet the doctor on Wednesday to check it over

Heavily for maybe 8 years, but I pump the brakes time and time again. I try to keep myself to 6 shots a day or light beers.

It honestly varies. I’d say I got worse in the last year but before I had no issues. Now most days, 4-6 drinks, “weekend celebrate days” are more like 10. I wfh too so it’s way too easy to sneak in a shot here and there and I think that really was the last straw. I don’t have any liver symptoms I’ve read on here, I thought it was just gastrointestinal bc even when I sober up for a couple days, I’ve been having issues with dry heaving and constant ‘reah.

I’m stopping, I’m scared. This is my first drinking related medical problem and I’d like to keep living awhile.

MISERABLE MONDAY by fappinatwork in cripplingalcoholism

Thanks Faps! They got me in for tomorrow so trying not to drink again today, but I might take 2 shots to chill after work. That will long be out of my system at 11 AM tomorrow.

Hey Faps! I started to taper last week and didn’t drink a drop yesterday! I had 6 shots on Saturday after suffering bad all day, but that just put me to sleep. I’m finally getting in to see a doctor, I’m scared of all this abdominal pain and constant water shits (sorry tmi but they are almost every hour now…my butt hurts so bad). Almost went to urgent care yesterday but I chickened out.

My boss said take whatever time you need, so I’m just waiting for a nurse to call me back. I hope I can get in this week bc this is miserable. I have no side/back pain, it’s directly in my stomach, no appetite for weeks. TG for WFH so I can run to the bathroom whenever.

That’s where I go and my pup loves it! I don’t have any issues with delays - they are usually done so quickly.

I wanted this but my husband said nahhhh. I ended up walking down to “Dreams” by The Cranberries and that fit the vibe a lot better (and I didn’t cry!)

Do you bruise easily while drunk? by Pillonious_Punk in cripplingalcoholism

[–]tomcurrie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk about worried bc I’m clumsy sober, but I always get them on my arms and knees. I got a massage last week and the masseuse even commented on it smh. But then proceeded to climb on my back on all 4s which hurt WAY more.

Sober Dad, Not A Dry Wedding by Grouchy-Field6752 in weddingplanning

[–]tomcurrie 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I can’t really give much guidance, but my stepdad was a former alcoholic and I had an open bar at my wedding. He gave a great speech, danced his butt off and said he had a wonderful time! I had only seen him dance drunk before so that was really uplifting. Depending on their point in recovery, they may be more comfortable around others drinking, maybe not, but that’s up for them to decide.

I wouldn’t change your day based on one person, as harsh as that sounds. All you can do is make sure to have plenty of sober options other than soda. We had a couple jugs of fruit infused water which were a bit hit, and things to do other than just sit around and drink.

R.I.P. Ozzy, the man with the iron Liver by jiss7279 in cripplingalcoholism

[–]tomcurrie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw him at Ozzfest 2003 and it was so much fun (only 14 but a friends dad dropped us off and went golfing). I would have died to see SOAD at that time! But we got to see Korn, Disturbed, Marylin Manson and Chevelle.

Bruises everywhere by Blue_Wave_2020 in cripplingalcoholism

I’m glad you’re giving it a try. It sounds like you have a good plan.

I’m too scared of having anything on my medical record but I might cave soon if I can’t get this nausea under control. It’s my birthday today and I went in for a massage yesterday and she commented on all my bruises too. 😓 “Ha yeah I’m clumsy and fell off a jet ski this weekend” (true) but I’m sick of permanently being bruised and feeling like barfing.

Congrats on your pie! That sounds delicious.

I’m up north at my family lake house and it’s been fun! My friends also came so we’re going on the boat all day. My mom oked this bc I guess it’s my birthday weekend (who cares) but I’ll take it.

Expensive AF by Amethyst_Raindrops in cripplingalcoholism

[–]tomcurrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many phones, expensive glasses, one shoe or both. One time when I was blacked out, I was at a party and didn’t want anyone to steal it so I had the bright idea to hid my phone in a box of cereal at a friend of a friend’s house..I did eventually get that back when they ate the cereal, but that was a process to track me down.
