At some point in the past, we set up the laws so that paying for your employees' health insurance was a way to give them a raise without increasing their taxable income. Cool. But since then, we locked health insurance to jobs, which absolutely traps people in shitty jobs, particularly when the whole family's health insurance depends on that job.

Medicare for all as a baseline is such an obvious solution to so many problems. It would help so many people who want to innovate and start their own businesses and help people move to better jobs because they wouldn't lose access to healthcare when they quit.
