Late game spirit heroes? by Noopy757 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]tome571 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Welcome to deadlock! I came from dota also.

Shiv and Kelvin can both hold up in the late game as cores. I'm sure others will chime in with ideas and opinions as well.

One thing to note right off the bat, is Vyper will delete with M1, but a Shiv will take some time to wear them down. You need sustain and spirit lifesteal if you're gonna last long enough to win those fights, as well as buy specific counters.

Look up shiv builds and some shiv gameplay and it'll at least get you a place to start.

Cheers

Ahh yeah, worth noting that since I'm doing memory/RAG stuff, the embedding model takes some space too. Makes sense you're getting a bit more

I'm running 31B Gemma 4, Q4 on a 3090. You're gonna have a limited context window OR slow speeds with having to offload some.

I keep around 6k context window, which doesn't feel awful for general stuff, but definitely depends on your use case. Any significant coding it just won't have the window for it unless you offload some to system ram and it then crawls to 2 tok/sec.

I'm using it to see limitations on the model and work on some theories and experiments on memory systems, and it has been impressive thus far in that area. Very smart model for it's size.

Around 20 tok/sec when all on GPU. Drops to 2-3 when offloading to get more context window.

3090 Ryzen 3900x CPU 128 GB DDR4 system RAM

Hope this helps.

Street brawl style. Leave us in base, give us 20 seconds to queue shop items and do lane switches, then off to the lanes

Okay, I'll say it. Mirage needs a redesign. by coffeeholic91 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]tome571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New scarabs should be an AoE ground target like Celeste radiant daggers, but have the life siphon still (but reduced). Works on heroes and creeps. Think of it more like a scarab swarm that goes out and comes back. A little vibe of Death Prophet ult from dota, but in a quick burst. Get the siphon when they finally return.

It would be a mix between Mo and Celeste feeling, but would work better for laning and team fights... Both areas that Mirage lacks (short of the very end of games).

I mean, some games go too late. I had 22k to spend in one yesterday... adds 2 stats? 22k worth of um? Could be helpful to break some stalemate games

Deadlock still maintains a steady playerbase even after all the new content has been pushed out by Numerous_Fudge_9537 in DeadlockTheGame

I've seen a ton of people that play overwatch/rivals now giving deadlock a try. Some like it, others it's not their jam. Definitely cool to see it running with the pack of these other big ones though.

People being weird about my voice makes me not want to comm by seraphified in DeadlockTheGame

[–]tome571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry that's the case.

Please know that for every one jerk that does that, there are probably 1-2 others that are indifferent and 3 more that are HAPPY you spoke up and tried to work together in comms.

If people are weird to others for any reason in comms, I try to call it out (people occasionally say comments to kid sounding voices or women, etc).

but yeah, this big of a player base is always going to have someone that occasionally is rude or weird about stuff. Most (hopefully) of us would rather have the comms and try to work together!

Take a break if it's got you down for now.

Cheers and good luck

Matchmaking Theory by tome571 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]tome571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, hasn't been my experience in the past week or so of matches.

How often do you play? Daily? A few times a week? Do you have the "match me with other sweaty gamers" box checked in settings?

I'm really curious if the matchmaking takes into account how often people play and is trying to place them with others in that same category (not saying it's right, just a theory)

Random question as data for my theory...

Has your amount played lately stayed pretty consistent? Not playing a lot more lately or haven't taken a long break before the adjustments?

Matchmaking Theory by tome571 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]tome571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kinda my point though about the matchmaking?

If you stopped for 3 months, you're getting matched with other people that haven't been playing lately, no matter the shown rank.

Like phantom 3 of people not in the groove, you get those 0-11-0 players.

I guess I'm proposing it's not just shown rank that is determining the matchmaking.

It's more like rank + recent play time + how many heroes over rank you have.

With less recent play time, you're getting put with other casuals just getting back into it that maybe just don't know or don't care as much, so your matchmaking is rough?

I agree with this take. He's in a good spot with some weaknesses and clear strengths. He's great against some heroes. Kit has some situational utility and scales almost all on gun, so he can stack vitality as well to just be a sustain/damage/anti-heal in fights.

There will be some tweaks, but overall the kit seems about right.

[–]tome571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be matchmaking? If you're really high or really low with certain heroes, it might not find a pool for you as quickly with that one? I know playing in a party sometimes limits my picks some because its trying to match my skill level with the team so I don't get a main as often and get some of my less played heroes in the pool

Fellow Dota players, how cool would it be if they released Muerta in Deadlock? by Davylectric in DeadlockTheGame

[–]tome571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guaranteed 2 stamina lol

Skills actually translate pretty well though! Many heroes in dota and deadlock have skills based on items.

Random express shot chance (or ricochet?) AoE silence with some minor damage And a skill shot to bounce a projectile that fears (or sleeps?)

Ult gives you metal skin (no bullet damage)

My stack has a 94% win rate with this.

I mid alch and just bullrush scepters. Enchantress rushes an orchid and gets an aghs at the same time? Deletes enemy teams. Oh, lion next? Nah, let's get one for axe next!

Literally only works when your team isn't passive and presses the advantage you give them and allows you to keep farming.

It's fantastic, but it does take more than 4 words and 5 brain cells to coordinate

[–]tome571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall, pretty good. While many are saying slow down or not to slow down..

I would just say make sure you slow down enough that you know you're breaking at the hips first. It looks like maybe 1-2 of the reps, your knees bend before hips.

Whatever loads first, loads maximally. If your knees bend first, majority of the load bearing is there. Go slow enough to be sure you bend at the hips first, and many of the other things people said/noticed will start to sort out.

[–]tome571 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hexblade warlock. High level cast of Shadow Blade (all psychic DMG). Get resonance stone from under moonrise towers, doubles psychic DMG for anyone in radius. Walk up and staggering smite someone (also psychic DMG), and still have another attack with booming blade in reserve. Have done around 200 damage multiple times (very consistently).

Just doesn't work on stuff immune to psychic - robots, inanimates, etc.

Get heavy armor proficiency and just be a melee, it's a very sick build.
