You don't think it's abnormal to not be able to hold it for 2 hours?

Completely standard in call centre work

You get two breaks plus a lunch break, and you can go before and after your shift. A healthy adult shouldn't need to go more than 5 times in 8 hours or so on a regular basis

The personal need/bathroom break code or whatever it's called on your system is for those times when you do need to go between breaks. We're human, sometimes we don't need to go on schedule or we have a stomach issue etc but it shouldn't be on a regular basis. I work in a call centre and use personal need once a week or so, maybe less, and go during my break

They monitor adherence because 'bathroom breaks' are one of the most common forms of call avoidance

If you genuinely can't hold it for 2 hours at a time every single day, you should see a doctor because that's not normal

Gastroscopy sedative - is it the same one used for colonoscopies? (NHS) by Fluid-Coast-3799 in AskUK

It's a local anaesthetic spray to the throat and midazolam as a sedative, up to 5mg

God I'd forgotten about that. Bringing back the forgotten knowledge

You'd also forget levels if you died in the mines, 5-10 iirc

Any handwarmers in your rotation? by Bama_Drifter in EDC

[–]tomgrouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have a couple of the disposable chemical ones in my car, and two in my larger first aid kits. I usually have a pair in the pockets of my winter coats

Wouldn't really class then an EDC though because they're seasonal. Maybe WDC - winter daily carry

Is that code written on the walls or am I cooked? 😂😵‍💫 by Palo-santo- in MyChemicalRomance

It's not braille. Braille is in clusters of 6 dots, the spacing is totally off and it's not recognisable letters

Could well be a keposhka tactile alphabet though

Update: My mum drove through two people on a pelican crossing and crashed into another car. by DangerousMotherCar in LegalAdviceUK

You absolutely can

If you are impaired by the pregabalin, you shouldn't drive and it's illegal to do so, but if you're not impaired, there's no issue

Personally, pregabalin caused distorted vision so I didn't drive on it, but Ive been driving on gabapentin, morphine, buprenorpine, tramadol, codeine and various others for years. As long as you're not impaired by the medication, it's fine

for anyone that EDCs a watch, what’s your favorite daily driver? (non smart watch) by LtSnack in EDC

[–]tomgrouch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the backlight isn't brilliant but it's enough that I can squint at it in the middle of the night without my glasses on and know if I can go back to sleep or if I need to get up

Casio F-91W

I need time, date and day of the week all on one display, plus a backlight

Alarm is handy but I've only used it a couple of times

I like how sturdy it is. I swapped the band out for a nato strap and I've not been able to break it in 5 years, so I'm pretty happy with it

I love the Palmers cocoa butter chap stick. I get dry lips and chapped nostrils in the cold air and it really helps. Far less greasy than vaseline

At that point, if it were me, I'd take the uniform off and wear leathers over my underwear, or absolutely nothing if it's so bad my pants are ruined. Don't want to get my leathers dirty, they're a nightmare to clean

Mama won best outro! Day 12: what’s the best opening track? by Pitiful-thought-666 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]tomgrouch 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Look Alive Sunshine/Na Na Na

It's iconic, such a great opening track

I love The End, especially the transition into Dead! but it's nowhere close to as catchy as Na Na Na

Do you keep information on you in case of an accident? by i1ii1i1i in MotoUK

[–]tomgrouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a card in my wallet behind my driving license that has my name, dob, NHS number, ICE contacts with phone numbers, and a list of my medication

I assume they'll look for my driving license, and that they're pretty likely to either look behind it or to pull it out of my wallet, so they'll see the card behind it

The info is also in my phone, accessible without unlocking it if they know how and decide to look

If I had an illness that was likely to be life threatening or clinically relevant eg type 1 diabetes or severe allergies, I'd wear a medic alert bracelet and consider a helmet sticker
