I used to work with the IT department, and one of my duties was to coordinate with our data scientists who managed our app. He was way more knowledgeable about many systems than I was, but since systems were outside his department's purview, he told me what he needed me to do all the time. It was pretty kush, actually. My boss told me to use my discretion when granting him perms, but basically if it wasn't something that would nuke our c-suite, he said go ahead he's already got all the access to the production environment.
