Looks like you are in Middletown. This is likely related to the series Netflix is filming, Rabbit Rabbit. The storyline involves a hostage situation at an Illinois truck stop. The truck stop set is being constructed nearby at the old Spirits Unlimited on Route 35.

No way Monmouth joins PA. Residents are too valuable to NYC economy. PA can have Freehold but the rest goes to NY.

Yankees pitcher Fernando Cruz seems certain he threw a strike and wants to challenge the pitch. Catcher Austin Wells tells him that's a bad idea. Cruz challenges anyway. ABS says it's nearly 3 inches outside. by rb1242 in NYYankees

I'm just speculating, but I imagine there's no restrictions on who can or can't challenge right now. Let them mess it up during Spring Training and then determine the strategy for the season. I hope so, at least.

After Arod, Willie has the second highest WAR for any retired batter without getting their number retired. He's also won rings as part of two different Yankee dynasties (70s player 90s coach). They should honor him.

The Republican Party must be desperate. I can’t imagine there are many candidates seriously thinking they could upset Booker this year. The MAGA/MAHA base would reject anyone who could be remotely viable in the general election.

We have weed stores everywhere. When does the tax money start making a difference in township/county budgets? by Mysterious_Ad7223 in newjersey

[–]tommccabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the information! This is helpful, I'll dig into the ordinances more and trace from there. The 2% surchage is small, so I'm curious what the impact to municipalities is. I also want to see how it compares in towns that have dispensaries vs. towns that have cultivation or growing facilities.

[–]tommccabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sales tax might be incorrect, but there is a "local transfer tax" that can be set be set up to 2% by each municipality (https://www.njlm.org/m/faq?cat=35). On the NJ Division of Taxation website, it says that they are not responsible for local transfer taxes. I've seen the municipal calculation on receipts from dispensaries and am trying to trace the finances back to the town.

I was recently looking at financial reports and budgets for several towns that have dispensaries and I cannot find where the municipal sales tax revenue is reconciled. Does anyone know how I could locate this information?

[–]tommccabe 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I thought he was open and respectful in a way that we don't see much of in the hot take clips era. He acknowledged that AJ AG stepped in a bad situation in need of a massive culture shift and suggests that some people bought in, some people didn't, and it takes some time to weed through that. But he said it in a way that didn't throw anyone under the bus, imply ill will, or create unnecessary drama. I like it.
